I am championing an effort to reissue the Methuen Handbook of Colour and I did some investigating work on locating the publisher, and I found them. Apparently, the last printing of the book was sometime in 1989, so it's long overdue for it's next printing. Mr. Peter Tummons has been my point-of-contact on the subject. He indicated that he needs to receive interest or inquiries from you. I am asking you to try to support this effort. I suppose you could contact Mr. Tummons by email PTummons@methuen.co.uk (which I have) or visit their web site http://www.methuen.co.uk/index.shtml or call/visit them from info that I found on their web site:
Methuen Head Office
215 Vauxhall Bridge Road
London SW1V 1EJ
Tel: +44 20 7798 1600
Fax: +44 20 7828 2098/7233 9827
I suppose that you would just make an inquiry/request that you would like a copy. He was not specific.
I have one that I borrowed from a library (in another city 100mi from me) and the only one that I have ever seen for sale (on Ebay UK), finally sold for about $200. These books are just superb for matching the colors on aircraft replicas & models. Ray Rimell uses the Methuen color codes in all the Windsock DataFile publications (WWI aircraft)
Here is an example if you are not familar with this great reference book:
