I did get the book in the mail, and it is fantastic! One of my favorite parts is the first chapter that has pictures of individual instruments with lots of information about them. It's great.

In the jacket it also says that there is a volume 2 and 3 planned, but it seems that they sure take thier time with it.

By the way, wing nut I'll be happy to share whatever information from that book that I can!

I just ordered my copy! It is out of print, but there are a few copies on Amazon and Ebay. I got mine from Ebay for $175. That is a lot of money for a book, but:

 1. It seems to be the holy grail for Luftwaffe modelers, of which I am one

 2. The other copies are going for about $235 to $250, so this is a bargain for a book in "perfect fine condition" as the listing said.

It is being shipped right now and I should have it sometime this coming week. I can't wait!!!

Ahhh good to know

(note to self.... put benzdoc's email in a favorite folder so all future color questions go to him.)Big Smile [:D]

Fade to Black:
Right now I'm working on on a 1/32nd Fw190D-9 with engine & cockpit detail kits. I concentrate on German aircraft so will happily use whatever I can find.

Hiya Jim,

'Tis no longer available through the publisher and I doubt you'll find it through any big name shops. I've seen it available here and there through small specialty outfits but the asking prices were quite high. The lowest I can recall was $125 USD, with most being around the $150-175 range.

As to your question about engine compartments, which aircraft are you looking for specifically?

There is a book by Kenneth A. Merrick titled German Aircraft Interiors 1935-1945 which I believe was published in 2000. Does anyone know where one can obtain this book?
Secondly, does anyone know if there are ANY colour photos available of engine compartment for these aircraft?
Thanks,
Jim
