A-26 Invader ????
Posted by mkee on Friday, January 7, 2005 9:19 PM
I'm currently working on the Monogram Invader kit.I'm wondering if anyone knows where I could find a shot of the rear of the cocpit. There are some tanks on the rear bulkhead and some things behind the pilots seat that I would like some ref for.I have gone through every book I have and searched the web but I can't find any pics looking rearward in the cocpit.I found a couple of restoration shots but the cocpit is already repainted but completely empty of all equipment.
I've gone all out on this thing and I don't want to blow it now.
Any help would be fantastic.
Thanks

Just some sites, may help:
http://www.philsaeronauticalstuff.com/a-26b/a-26b.html

A link to a training video of how to fly an Invader:
http://www.zenoswarbirdvideos.com/A-26.html (haven't watched it, I refuse to install RealPlayer on my computer. One would assume that it'd have a few shots of the cocpit since it's a training video.)

You can probably use the contact info at the bottom of this page to request a photo of what you need:
http://www.historicalaircraftsquadron.com/phase.htm

Hope some of this helps.

Got exactly what I needed on the first link. What a cool site,it will come in handy for lots of things.I've been looking for what seems like forever to find that.Pics of the rear bulkhead are rare.I'll go check out the other links too but right now I'm going to jump that last hurdle.
Thanks ClumsyModeler,you've been a big helpSmile [:)]

No problem, I love helping out (and it keeps me awake and "productive" at work!)

Make sure to post pics of your completed 'Vader, I LOVE that aircraft and want to build one myself. "She who must be obeyed" has made it a requirement that I finish the models I currently have before I get any more... sigh. Time for marathon modelbuilding! Black Eye [B)]

I've been wanting to take some shots of it so far to show off the PE.Eduard has some gorgeous sets for it.I will take some build shots just as soon as I get my digital back.
My wife also had a few things to say about my models.I managed to capture one room in the new house. It works out well,no one goes in there so nothing gets moved around and if she doesn't like how it looks, she can close the door.I have a bit more painting to do and all those little levers for the cocpit can drive you crosseyed.Once I have the cocpit done I'll post some pics.I'm modeling mine after "Dream Girl".It's currently on display at WPAFB in Dayton Ohio.I'm not too fussy on the nose art decal that came with the kit so I'm doing custom. My nose art will be a reduced photo, someone has already agreed to pose for it. It should turn out well.
Keep watching for the thread in the aircraft section.
