Sd.Kfz.251 Kit list
Posted by beav on Saturday, February 12, 2005 9:29 PM
Hi all, I am compiling a list of my favorite halftrack. I am making this list in all scales, and all manufacturers, and all variations. If you know of a kit, let me know, and I will pop it in! I have got a lot of 1/35 stuff in there, and eventually i hope to have accesoriy kits, and conversions added into the list. This is a spreadsheet, which when done, i plan on posting for anyone to use. Thanks!

The best 251`s are made by DML, followed by Tamiya.

Has anyone bought the Opsprey book, "Building the 251 Halftrack?" Is it worth purchasing?

The Osprey Modeling books are good. A few days ago I recieved the "Building the T-34/76 & T-34/85" as a gift and let me tell you. I previously would never though that modeling books are worth the effort, but in general they are. The book gives you a little insight at the history of the vehicle, the building process, paint schemes, scale drawings, reference pics, markings, super detail, weathering as well they let you know who produces the selected vehicle and who makes the AM (Aftermarket) kits for it. I build a lot of russian armor including T-34`s so no doubt this book will come in very handy. If you plan on building a few halftracks in your modeling carrer and have some extra change in your pocket, I would recommend.
