KC-10 refuelling pod dimensions?
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, May 15, 2005 5:56 PM
Looking to convert an Airfix DC-10-30 to a KC-10, but need the dimensions of the exterior fixed portion, and the moveable portion of the refuelers pod.

Or, anybody got an old Revell KC-10 they haven't built, and want to help out?

Thanks, Joe

Hey Joe:
Here's a site with some various shots of the KC-10 in flight. This page doesn't give the dimensions of the pod, but it does have one very good pix if the inside of the pod, looking over the boomers left shoulder while he's refueling an F-117 during DAYLIGHT. A lot of the pod's panels and switches can be clearly seen.
the website is www.fas.org/nuke/guide/usa/bomber/kc-10.htm
If nothing else, I thought you might like to have these many pix for future reference.

Man, I forgot how big those things were! The one in-flight refueling shot makes my BUFF look small!
