how many of you have (collect) fsm magazines that you use as reference a lot as well as the other brands (OK jeff i said it)
i do i have about 300 or so
firstly i keep on computer an inventory of all the mags
secondly i keep separate list by subject as to what is in each magazine
it is a project that can be done in just 3 weekends, but it has saved hours of time when having to look for a specific article of reference
a list for armor 1 for aircraft etc...
i use microsoft works but any of the simple office programs that most computers have will work mine is in spread sheet format
example
i want to do a bren carrier so rather than go thru every mag i go to my list
it says

model magazine month/yr

bren........ fsm 0903

military mach int 1002

military modeler 1083

military modeler 0283

if you have large ref collection it is worth the time to create this

One method that has worked well for me over the years to place a write a Post-It note about the subejct, and then stick it on the page so that it is about 1/4" above the top. Acts as a marker and an index - by staggering them, you can scan years worth of magazines in moments.
