bassingbourne airbase references, anyone?
Posted by Jaypack55 on Monday, March 13, 2006 3:00 PM

I am planning on building a 91st BG diorama of the B-17G "man o' war II Horsepower, ltd.", and I need some references on the layout of the base, like maps, pictures, etc., preferably online.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

-Josh

Current Builds: If I were to list everything I have in progress, it'd take way too long! Some notable inclusions:

Hasegawa 1:48 KI-84

Tamiya 1:48 P-51D (in Iwo Jima long-range escort markings)

4 (yes, four) Tamiya 1:48 F4U-1s (1x -1D, 1x -1A, and 2x -1s)

I'll see what I have...there's a book Barnes and Noble sold a few years back...I can't remember the name of it, but it contained a mix of current (1990s era) photos and vintage photos, and had overhead shots of many of the bases.

It's a thick book, it's going to drive me crazy until I find it. The dust cover had color shot of a tattered B-17 cockpit.
