Found a great color book for WW II aircraft.
I was going through the shelves at Books-A-Million today and picked up a great reference book for WWII aircraft in the MTO/ETO. It's a coffee table sized book called "World War II Fighters" by Jeffrey L. Ethell and Robert T. Sand. (ISBN 0-7603-1354-7)
It's basically nothing but quotes from pilots and crews on different aspects of the air war in those theaters. The stuff I've been reading so far is extremely interesting.
What is so cool about this book is that 100% of the photos are in color. It's some of the best color pictures I've seen of these aircraft, from shots of the interiors, to ground crews working on them, right up to in-flight pics. There are even a few color pics of captured German aircraft.
A quick Froogle search showed it was at several places, one of which is
Books-A-Million- but there are others.
Anyway- I highly recommend it. The photos and text are priceless for the history and the reference, IMO.
