Excellent photos there.  Great find, Ed.  The B-17 has always been my favorite bomber of WWII.  I'm still playing B17 The Mighty Eighth on my computer, as a matter of fact.  I must've logged a five or six hundred hours in it already.

Site bookmarked.  Thanks again!

You're in for a treat, then.  B-17 The Mighty Eighth, or B-17 2, was made by Microprose, right before they folded and sold to Atari.

It's almost more of a role-playing flight-sim micro-management game than a true flight simulator.  You take control of what targets are to be bombed, setting waypoints to avoid the heaviest German flak, and selecting the payload.  And that's all before takeoff.

Once airborne, you can take control of every crewmember...all ten!  You wanna fly the plane?  You wanna man the ball-turret?  You wanna drop two thousand pounds worth of all-American pride and prejustice on that Hun factory?

Ok, I'll stop with the propaganda.  Check out www.bombs-away.net.  Ignore the political rants that go on in Off Topic.  Do a Google Image search for B-17 2.  You can probably pick the game up for $5.00 or less by now at EBGames.  Next time I fly a mission, I'll post some screenshots.

Thanx Ed.

It's a great site for pics. By the way, for those of us who grew up in the '50's early '60's and watched the movie "Air Force". I rented it a few years ago, and as I watched it I made notes of the bombers serial number, and where she was marked "Mary Ann" at{on the nose under the cockpit on both sides, and by her entrance door aft.}. Just plain "Mary Ann" no art work pic. I marked my B-17D assembly plans of the locations, and remember her "TB-17" marking was a big #10.
