The major difference between the F-14A and the B models were the engines. The F-14A used the TF-30 engine and the F-14B used the F-110 engine, both engines had very different exhuast nozzles (turkey-feathers). There were also minor avionics changes done to the B but at the end of the A's career they also had those avionic changes. The only way to tell of a late model F-14A from a F-14B is by the exhuast nozzles (engines).
