If I remember correctly there is a French tank inside, and a lot of small arms weapons and other miscellaneous goodies. There is a gift shop with some nice goodies. I picked up an Elefant coffee mug, a Tiger T-shirt and an Elefant T-shirt (my favorite). Interesting they had a bunch of Elefant goodies for sale, yet the tank is basically abandoned in a field away from the museum. Anyway, they really need to raise some money to build a large indoor structure so they can put all the tanks inside. All but one of the tanks are outside, a bunch at the museum and then various lineups of tanks alongside several of the roads on the way in to the museum once you're on the base. You'll probably spend at least an hour or so checking out the tanks on the way in. And at least another hour or two checking out the tanks on display on the museum grounds. Be sure to check out the Elefant down the street from the museum. If I remember correctly you continue down the road by the parking lot about a 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile. It will be out in the grass on the left hand side.... it's massive! You'll have to get a visitor pass at the gate before you drive on. They also have a huge rail gun on display across the street from the museum. There is a picture on my website of my 2 youngest (14 at the time) standing next to the shell from that monstrous gun .
If you're expecting a big indoor museum like many of the aircraft museums, you'll be sadly disappointed. But all the tanks on display at the various spots at Aberdeen are well worth the trip. Bring your camera!! If you bring any wife, kids, girlfriends etc. you might want to drop them off somewhere to go shopping and go solo so you can drool all over the tanks for as long as you like.
