panzer kapfwagen II reference materials
Posted by crazygerman on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 10:21 PM
i went to the hobbyshop today looking for a new project and picked up the tamiya panzer kapfwagen II ausf f/g kit thinking it would be an easy kit to dress up with some scratchbuilt interior details...problem is i've been online looking for some interior pics and i can't find anything, if anyone could help me out i'd appreiciate it, i'm new to the forum so i had trouble browsing and couldn't find anything on my own, thanks

At some time in the distant past, I found some interior shots of the Panzer II F at Saumur, but a search on Google failed to find them. I'm on the road at the moment and I don't have any of my bookmarks on this computer. I'll be back home tomorrow and I'll see if the links still work. This kind of info is not easy to find on the Net. You may need to drop some bucks on a book or two.

There should be some info in an Osprey book or two - if they aren't available in a nearby library, I've found that different Borders stores have different selections of Osprey books.  They have a pretty decent WW2 section on the average, so even if they don't have any Osprey books that would help, you still might get lucky.

I have a few armor reference books at home (at work at the moment) and if I get a chance tonight I'll leaf through a couple to see if I have any pics that might help.

I found this link, but Websense at work won't allow me to access it

www.wargamer.com/Hosted/Panzer/panzer3b.html

so I don't know if it will help at all.

thanks for the help guys, i've been online again today and can't find a single picture of the interior for a panzer II, everything is panzer III or IV, besides looking online i couldn't find an osprey book on it, but i only checked at the hobby shop, i'm going to check out Borders tonight, hopfully i'll have some luck there

Sorry to say I came up empty on anything except a few exterior pics for the Panzer II.  I do have the Squadron Panzer III in Action book, but I looked through it and there's not a single interior photo or illustration in the entire book.  I was hoping there might be something there to at least give you some idea of the interior layout, but no such luck.

Thanks for looking, i appreciate it, i don't have any walk around books on armour but i have plenty of (WWII) aircraft references so if you need anything i'll see what i can do. Sadly i couldn't find anything at my local bookstore or hobby shops, so i'm moving on to another project for now, thanks again,

Alex

just gave my icm pz2 a bath today.i dont think that there is much of a selection of good tech. drawings available on the web.as kykeon stated you should invest in reference material and there are hundreds of sources out there for that.as for the quality, you'll have to ask about a particular title.and right here is an excellent place to do that. good luck on your pz2.
