need armor interior drawings!

i have been eyeing up two or three of the titles you list on amazon.thank you for the personal reviews

The Belona Press booklet is ancient history, I doubt you could find it, but don't bother looking, there are much better, more modern titles for money. Achtung Panzer #1 Panzerkampfwagen IV, ISBN: 4-499-20532-8, covers all the variants of the Pz IV in detail, though the text is in Japanese.....but the line drawings are excellent and cover the smallest details, except no interior info. Euro Modelismo's Compendium Modelling Manual #21, Panzer IV, ISBN: 1-902579-41-0, covers detailed builds of a PZ IV Ausf G, a Jagdpanzer IV L/70 and a Whirbelwind, with very nice color photos, a few paint schemes and museum shots. Squadron's Panzer IV and Panzer IV in Action, have many combat photos and several color plates, a good general reference, but not much for details. Schiffer Publishing's Panzer IV and it's Variants, ISBN:0-88740-515-0, by Walter Spielberger, is the best reference for the Pz IV. Detailed and accurate drawings by Hillary Doyle and numerous photos, including interior shots, in it's 163 pages, has set the standard for many years.  About $35. A must have book if you really want to get serious. Waldemar Trojca's Sd.Kfz 161 Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf G/H/J, ISBN: 83-60041-02-4 has very nice 1/35th scale drawings and several color plates, plus numerous photos, but no interior shots. Kagero Publishing also produces a very nice line of books, including one on the Pz IV, but I don't have it, so I can't tell you much about it.

hello again,currently working on an old revell panzer 4 h,not to bad and some other kit leftovers to help spruce it up a bit.right now i'm just cleaning up some dragon tracks for it,hopefully get it into shoes before the end of the evening.a title was recomended on the sight tanksheaven i believe,it was panzerkampfwagen by belona press,thats about all i remember about it.i could find this title nowhere,so it must be on the endangered list.whats your opinion on this title.

One of the best sites, now unfortuately gone, was AFV Interiors. Some of the guys here downloaded the whole site and burned it to CD. You might ask around to see if someone would burn a copy for you. George Bradford has a site, http://www.afvnews.ca/1-35g.html , that has scale drawings for sale, but no interiors. He also has a series of 4 books coming out. I bought the German Early War Armored Fighting Vehicles, for $15. While it has some unique vehicles, the drawings are only average, definately not up to the standards of Hillary Doyle, that's for sure.

thanks kykeon,your support is much appreciated.although i have been building for around thirty years i have only recently delved into the art of scratchbuilding interiors,i also purchase some aftermarket stuffsuch as engines and transmission.gloating in my humble opinion is your privelage,as they say"if you've got it flaunt it".i have shopped some of the better book stores for certain titles,and as i believe you mentioned to me.some are impossible to find.at one time i ran across a web site where one could purchase these technical drawings at a modest fee and i dont have a clue where or what i've done with that info..again thank-you.

Sorry, I don't mean to gloat, but it just kills me that some folks here will shell out major bucks for every last AM goody possible to pimp-out their model, but won't cough-up $15 for a cheap book to make it look correct.

Interior drawings are tough to find. What vehicle are you interested in? The problem is, no matter how many books I get, there are always ones I don't have, and I usually don't get them until I'm gearing up for a particular build. For some vehicles, I have a ton of info, for others, not so much. If I have already built a particular vehicle, I'm not likely to get more references on that vehicle either. 

The best 5 titles?...humm.....they are all 400-700 pages and cost about $100 a piece. I don't think that is what you have in mind, is it? Publishers are getting smarter about catering to our interests, such as Osprey, Schiffer, JJ Fedorowicz, Concord, Ryton, Kagero, Auriga, Squadron and others are all among the top names in our field of interests.

 I try to help folks in any way I can. And yes, I do know a little bit about this hobby, as well as history too.

PM me if you have a specific question. I specialize in German armor, and dabble in the rest of WWII as well.

you again.its an awfully small forum.ok,you've got the best library around,how about your opinion on the best,mmmmm say five titles out there.you and i need to get together and swap war stories and when you leave the room for refreshments i whip out my little spy cam and take some pictures ok.in all reality i value your input as since you have 500+plus titles it would technically make you an expert on the subject.i'm reasonably certain that if i had access to your library i would be awake for days.perhaps if it is not against the rules of this forum to swap info. etc. we could swap e-mail addresses.and take it from there.

The only mother load of info I've seen is my own library. 40 years in the making and close to 500 titles. Nothing on the net can match it. Tanxheaven, Jagdtiger.de, whatever.... the sad fact is sooner or later, if you want the info, you have to buy books. Either that, or know someone who does....

 There are some great pics at this site: www.tanxheaven.com, not drawings, but with a little drafting experiance and some equipment you can draw up some plans, i don't know how extensive all the vehicles are, but i've been using their pics of the Sdkfz 251/1 and theres some great shots of it, its free so and theres a wide selection of vehicles
