"A Galaxy Far Away, Building Star Wars Models" by Matthew Usher: I have searched for an affordable copy of this book for two years now. I am still amazed that I cannot find a copy anywhere for less than $150.00. At this moment, there is not a copy available for less than $189.00. Considering the publication date of this book (2002) and the price it is now demanding, it would seem that a reprint would be a profitable move for Kalmbach Publishing Co.. I am wondering if it is possible to encourage such.
It is my understanding that Mr. Usher was or is on the FineScale Modeler staff. I was hoping maybe his input could be given on this topic. At least, I would hope that fellow Star Wars modeling fans who were unable to get a copy of this book while it was available would be interested in helping. But I am not sure where to start...
Should I recruit the help of the community to bombard Kalmbach with letters, phone calls and e-mails? That could be a tad bothersome for them. Perhaps starting an online petition would be a better idea with a few making hints to Kalmbach that such a petition exists.
Any input on this matter from the FineScale community would be appreciated. I am not much of an activist. But I really want a copy of this book.
Ideas?
