alibris.com is about bringing used books and their sellers together in one place. Thus the name "A Libris," which every book devotee will tell you is Latin for "from the library of...". The implication is, of course, that they are previously owned books. Thats how they started. They are more focused on that and somewhat less commercial than Amazon.
When you dont want or need new, which is about 95% of the time, alibris.com works. I use them a lot.
