You're right of course. But I was referring to the original 2 p51 in nationalist markings, the checkertail one I couldn't see, just a red x. After your post, I went to the original site to take a look. I guess they don't let your link directly to their site. Either way, good luck with the build

Thanks Waikong...

I think that this aircraft is from 25th squadron "Checkertails".

Take a lok at this file !

http://www.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-070725-118.pdf

This weekend I started the building, friday I bought a Kit from Academy P-51C 1/72 (I don't have more space to store more 1/48 kit... ),

I'll need to do some scratch on the tail to remove the dorsal fin that comes on the kit.. but this is easy...

When I finish the job I'll post it here.

Friendly,

Lucas

Sorry I didn't see your original post, but glad someone got back to you. Great looking P47 by the way!

The aircraft looks like they belong to the Chinese American Composite wing of the 14th Airforce that was active 1943-1945. Here's a webpage with a brief history.

http://www.sinoam.com/photo_gallery_5a.htm

You can also try Carl Molesworth's "Wing to wing" book, a history of the CACW.

Here's pages from a Chinese website (sorry no English translation, but if you need to know something specific I can try and get a rough translation, or try translate.google.com)

This page has links to a couple of CACW aircraft, the last one is for P51- color profiles and original B/W pictures.

This page has link to P47 -3rd one down.

Here's a website by the same person with pictures of fellow modellers who specializes in Chinese air force (in English)

I have some pictures in books at home too. Hope this helps, and show us your finsihsed P-51.

Good News !!

Take a look at these pic

It's is probaly that I'm looking for !

The legend to this pic is this:

No. 205 of the 25th FS, P-51C-10-NT serial no. 42-103860, was named "My Mike" on both sides of the nose. Shown here flying near Yunnanyi, China, in June 1945, the plane was assigned to Lt. W.L. Peet, pilot, and Sgt. Dale Bleicke, crew chief. The markings are black checkers over natural metal, with a black fuselage band bordered in yellow.

http://www.web-birds.com/14th/51st/51.htm

I think that the plane that I'm looking from these squadron, the band on the front of the checkers, and overall markins that was "overpainted"...

Thanks for all help !

Hey, nice job on the 'bolt'. the mustang appears to a olive drab anti glare over natural metal finish. the bottom picture shows what appears to be checkers that used to be on the tail surfaces at one time.

Hi, it seems no one is out there?...well I'll help you with the aircraft carrying chinese markings. You can opt for Mustangs (P-51D) or kittyhawks as flown by the famous flying tigers or more P-47's. I hope this helps a little with your question and I am sure there are more out on the forum who would be more than happy to help, as they themselves get help from time to time. Cheers

Thanks for the info Konig ... Now I did a P-47 Thubderbolt, here are some pics...

Now I'm looking for a P-51C that China fly too, the P-40, and P-51 are a most usual subject, I like to make some different models... Wink [;)]

Take a look of this: (now I'm trying to find what color they are painted, I think that is Olive Drab/Neutral Grey but I'm not sure of this...)

Best regards,
