Best way to show new photos from Flickr (and delete the error messages from Photobucket)
Posted by aWintersTale on Thursday, February 22, 2018 11:11 AM

Hi. I abandonded Photobucket, which made all my photos non-viewable, and put a damper on posting to FineScale for over a year. My question to the fine modelers at FineScale and to those who have replaced the non-viewable Photobucket pics with some from Flickr or other photo hosting sites, did you delete the post including text and photos altogether, and resubmitted your entry(s), or did you just add the viewable pics from the other photo hosting sites to your existing post? And, if you chose the latter, were you able to delete the annoying Photobucket error message from your particular posting? Thank you for your help.

I didn't bother going back and replacing pics in old threads, i didn't see the point. But you should be able to just delete the PB link and insert the new one in its place without to much trouble.

For any help with posting pictures, go to the Forum Technical Assistance forum. It is down below in the Feedback, Help, and Testing section.  Lots of good help on these problems there.

Can't help you much with editing old posts but as far as posting Flickr images I just simply copy the BB code and paste it straight to the text field. Forget those 'Add image" icons in the menu.

A number Army Viet Nam scans from hundreds yet to be done:

Have had the great fortune to be on every side of the howitzers.

Exactly.  It's too much effort. I would just create a new post as appropriate.

And depending on the forum, it's not possible to edit old posts.  Some forums have an interval, after which it's not possible for the regular users to edit a post.  I don't know if we can still edit old posts here in FSM.  But it's just too much effort.

Here you can edit posts when ever you want, but i have seen forums where you can't after a certain amount of time or when somone else has posted.

Thanks Bish. After a year of having all my posts (the ones I created showing my dioramas) without any pictures, I thought I might put in new pictures, hoping that these old posts might come to the forefront to alert modelers that my dioramas are now viewable. Apparently they are not. I could put in new pics, delete the old links that were attached to Photobucket, but there is no way to mark these as now viewable. The old guard (Bish, GM, Baron, etc.), who have come to recognize my posts as those lacking pics, have no way to be informed that my dioramas are now viewable with Flickr (not that anyone would stampede the shopping aisles to see my dioramas anyways). That was my sentiment at the time I created this particular post. Nevertheless, thank you for all the inputs.

Thanks for clarifying, Bish!  Then I stand on, "It's too much effort to go back and edit old threads."  Especially for those of us who have been here a long time and may have a lot of threads.

As you might add new posts replacing your old ones, you could always note that in the post title, or in the first lines of the post, to let people know.
