A question about F-15 photo etch
Posted by David2080 on Friday, July 15, 2016 8:26 AM

Hi all!  I'm new to the forums.  Getting back into modeling after more than a few years.

I have three different 1/48 F-15 kits staring at me.  I saw on ebay someone selling F-15 FOD photoetch sets.

I was looking to upgrade the cockpits, but I'm wondering what the heck the FOD is.  they looklike parts for the intakes perhaps?

Thanks in advance

Welcome!

FOD is Foreign Object Damage. The parts are for plates that block the intakes when the aircraft is parked to prevent things flying into the engines that would be detrimental on start.

Cheers, Aaron

Thanks Aaron.  I suspected it had something to do with those intakes!
