Bill Griffith Jr., Johnstown, Pennsylvania

Vacationing in Gettysburg, Bill thought he’d have all the 3-D references he’d need to build Lindberg’s 1/16 scale horse-drawn Union cannon. “I photographed many of the cannons on the battlefield. But, after doing some research on the Internet when I got back, I found that they are not like the ones used in the battle.” So, he referenced black-and-white photos and other information “to create as close to what the cannon would have looked like back in 1863.” He finished with Testors and Apple Barrel paints.
