I've been building plastic scale models for over twenty years. My grandfather loved to build WWII model planes and I can still remember watching him after school as he put the pieces together. It wasn't long before I was helping him to build them and one year for Christmas when I was ten years old he bought me my first modeling kit.
It was a Star Wars X-wing fighter. I remember being so excited about it because I was obsessed with all things Star Wars that year, and then my Grandpa and I spent my Christmas break building it together. From that year on, I was hooked.
Since then, I’ve come a long way in my plastic modeling. I enjoy building the model airplanes just as my grandfather did, and every time I finish one it’s like I am able to feel a little bit closer to him. I also enjoy building the tanks and other armored military vehicles, but I may still work on a Star Wars or Sci-Fi model just for fun. My fourteen-year-old son likes to build cars. Together we selected the best models of car kits for beginners. We also made some short reviews for each model. I will be happy if I can help someone in choosing the first model.
