The previous pics were takenunder artificial light whereas these are taken in the morning under natural light and they show a completely different looking finnish. Note how the side skirts are darker on the sides and lighter on the tops , this is not just the natural light that has caused this, its actually painted that way to helpdefine the different areas. This has been done all over the tank and makes for a completely different looking painting style .

Hey Andy!

You have done a great job demonstrating Adam Wilder's Color Modulation style.  I really like the approach and you definately naile dthsi one.  The eye follows the light quite naturally.

The only critique I have is in assembly and that is the shovel handle is bent on the left side of the vehicle.  You had mentioned it was a cheap kit so it is probally warped. I am not nit picking mate just priovding another set of eyes.

You do great work Andy! Thumbs Up [tup]

Bodge - being a "dialup boy" I haven't been able to check this guy out until now - man have I been missing out! You've got the color modulation technique DOWN, my friend. Bow [bow]

Latest set of photos definitely do the work you've done so far justice Andy. Thumbs Up [tup]

On a side note, the huge tone shifts you're seeing in the pics in terms of natural light vs. artificial light are almost certainly due to the white balance settings on your camera. Most point-and-shoots will allow you to adjust it for different lighting conditions such as outdoor vs. indoor and that's the likely culprit as to why you're seeing such a change depending on the lighting. In the artificial light, your camera is seeing the yellow as more vibrant because it's compensating for the wrong spectrum of "light" conditions, causing the shift in the pics. HTH!

Sorry about that Dupes but glad you like it so far, Bill thanks i will have to look into the settings on the camera as there are quite a few of them but yer the camera certainly picks up the yellow in artificial light. Edward thanks for your input and i have rectified the handle, cheers all, Andy.

Andy, I think your example of chipping is just right, not overdone and effectively applied.

Bodge,
It's amazing the difference under natural light. I thought it looked stunning under the artificial lighting. WOW!
Cheers

Andy - you look great both naturally and artificially Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Nice work. The color modulation (wow I like how this is now the in thing....the technique of the year......in 1:1 world this was faded paintConfused [%-)])....but the suttle "faded" tones look great.

Chipping is a German thing so I don't use it....but I must admit you technique and the final look is fantastic. Another masterpiece on your part!!

Rounds Complete!!

The tools look great especially the wood handles. the texture on the turret shows in the pics, and looks very well done. I still can't get over the chipping Thumbs Up [tup].

Very, very cool looking Tiger II. I really like the chipping. You must have some serious patience, there's no way I could do that type of  chipping, I'd be cross eyed and screaming for my momma.LOL Again very nice job!!!

That's some first class finishing skills on display, Andy.  Makes me wonder why we pay so much for the newest-bestest when the "Old" standards can be used to achieve results like this!

I did Andy and I was honored to help.  I didn't want to sound like a rivit counter or a grumpy modeler or take away from your awesme presentation so I almost didn't say anything but then I thought hey I would want to know so I could correct it so I took a chance.

Glad you took it in the manner it was intended to be of service.

Cheers and it is a beauty can't wait for figures!

Hi to everyone, im sorry i havnt been on the forum much of late but ive been busy with other things. Sorry to all who have been modeling and not recieving comments from me , i will try and catch up on current builds being done by you lot. I did manage to finnish the tiger minus any stowage i may add and ive added a figure although he may be changed for the other two crewmen when i get round to doing them. Like i said my modelling is taking a back seat for a while. Oh well here she is,Thumbs Up [tup]

Bodge: Another spectacular piece of work!  The photo progression is really nice...it would be helpful for us to have you pair it down (remove forum commentary)and make a tutorial out of it...

That cast texture is some of the finest I've seen...I'll be coming back to that to study it closer in the near future.  Was that Mr. Surfacer?

Your chipping is just rightThumbs Up [tup]...as usually you have displayed a real ability to master many techniques and styles!...Bow [bow]

Running out of adjectives to describe your stuff, Bodge...let's go with "superb" this time? Bow [bow]

BTW, I know you have a face painting tutorial kicking around somewhere - any chance we could get an everything-else-about-figs version? Big Smile [:D]

OK Andy, I'm going to print this and go home and copy it (no internet at home). I have a couple of KTs in the stash that have been patiently waiting for me, and this is the kick in the hind end that I needed.

I do mostly OD stuff or Israeli, and neither scheme chips, so I'm gonna make like an arborist and start chipping.....

tHANKS GUYS im glad you liked it, as for tutorials Steve  im a bit pushed for time at the moment thats why some of my comments on posts are very brief, and yes its mr surfacer 1000 i used on the turret, and i stipple it on and brush horizontaly then when dry i sand it back    this leaves a teqsture similer to cast metal plate.Thumbs Up [tup]
