I haven't had much luck with completing a couple of past group builds due to family emergencies and other issues that pushed my model building on the back burner but I been wanting to start on the 1/350 Arizona so I will give it a shot!

Ok, you can add me to this one... I have some ships in dry dock I can complete in here, and a couple I am starting. I will start with re-starting the Samuel Adams DDG-2 and take it from there.

No worrys about it at all.  Theirs a good chance that if the group continues to grow the deadline can allways be changed.  Welcome aboard Archangel shooter!!!

Well here are my two entries

First up Dragons 1/350 USS Ticonderoga, I'll be building as the Yorktown (CG 48)

I rate it as about 40 % done, while the basic hull is in place along with superstructure, all the small bits plus overall painting (hull needs re-painting) and Lionroars PE guard rail set.

Second up is Tamiya's 1/350 Yamato

I figure this girl is about 10% done. I've had to totally rebuild the hull after shattering it, otherwise I've added metal barrels to the main guns, some painting and a couple of ladders from the rear section and main guns from the Eduard PE set, leaving ALOT of work to go.

I got a Tamiya 1/350 USS Enterprise CVN-65. I already started on her (she's a commission build) before seeing this GB.  All I have done on her is put on a few gangways, propeller shafts, rudders and gave her a coat of red on the bottom.  Is this OK?  I kind of will keep working on her before Nov 1, though she is a big ship so progress will be very slow.  Adding a scratch built hanger bay.

Goodness,

Where in Maine are you located?  I ask because way back when I was in the Navy I was stationed with

VP-10 at NAS Brunswick.  I LOVED Maine and probably would still be living there if I'd been able to find

Steady employment.  I lived on Orr's and Bailey's Island, Bath, and, Auburn...

All the best

Ray.  I live in Kennebunk now, but I grew up in Brewer and moved south for college.  Went to Southern Maine Community College in South Portland.  I love Maine also and would not want to live any where else.

Opened the box today to check out the contents and start planning my build. I confirmed what others had been saying about the kit railings. They look overly thick so I ordered the Eduard railings and turrets photoetch set.

Mind if I come aboard? I ambuilding Academy's 1/350 Graf Spee and am about 30%-40% built at this point. Lots of sub-assemblies completed and some of the main painting done, but lots of building still to be done.Hmm

Nice that will be an awsome kit to see when she's all done.  I think that the photoetched sets will go a long ways.  I myself do not have alot of knowledge and skill in useing photoetched sets but my USS Cole does have some photo etched stuff so i will navigate that very carefully.
