Hello from Australia
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, March 13, 2004 11:16 PM
Hello, I have been spooking around this site for a month or so and been very impressed with the standard of discussion.
I am your usual returning modeller, I built so many things when I was very young and still have a garage filled with un-built kits, most of which I cannot even remember buying.
I recently discovered the market for kits on E-bay and have been buying up big again. So I suppose I am joining properly now to sustain the inspiration.
My main interests are Sci-fi and real space though I also like X-Planes.
I am building a cabinet to hold about 20 models right now as I refuse to build anymore until I have a safe space to store them.

None of the planes I built years ago have survived (I am 36), I remember how some of them died when I had them on the bottom shelf of a modular bookcase and the top shelves dropped on them!

That was when I was about 15 and I have since kept my hand in doing Warhammer 40k stuff. But I am keen to tackle some of the kits in the garage soon.

Just wanted to say hello and it is good to be here.
Good health to you all.

Fulgor.

Welcome Fulgor!!! That is a sad story with the bookcase shelfs dropping on your models, I bet you were just as crushed as they were.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

And yes Kit36, it was pretty sad when the bookshelf crushed my models. I can't remember all the models but I do clearly remember I had an airfix 1/72 Lunar Module that I loved on the shelf, with all its spindly legs and fine parts out on the diorama base.

As you can imagine their was no saving it from the weight of two fully laden shelves.

So Phroosh, which one is the Aussie modellers thread?

Thanks again for all the hello's.

Welcome to the forums, Fulgor! All i can say is hurry up with the display case!! What model to you intend to start on first? Hmmm... I've been reading that there's a Scratchbuilt Starfighter Groupbuild in the Sci-Fi Forum... you may find that interesting. Big Smile [:D]
