I think that you all fell for this guy's bait and are doing exactly what he wanted.

Hardly.

A forum freshman has his feelings hurt because no one replied to his three posts, so he decides to pout, adds this post to say, "Hey, everyone!  You're all rude for not replying to me, and I'm leaving!  Look, here I go!", and departs.

Unless he's still secretly popping back in and looking, he's not getting any real attention.

Now we're just having fun with the thread.

Green Acres was a good show, but I was always a Hogan's Heros fan. .

Didnt the 229 develop from some guy trying to explain the purchase of a $229 model to his wife

That was it, thanks for the correction.

I just remembered how that the Ho 229 came into it, including a spin off GB if i remember right.

I believe his name was Rob. No idea how the whole thing spun out of control. The Field Marshal Who Is Not To Be Named was a real pot-stirrer. I understand why he was banned but things are a lot quieter now (good thing or bad I dunno).

His name was jeffw and the following may or may not be a tribute to the $229 kit...

I hadn't seen that before either, pmsl.

That is probably my favorite episode. Funny because I had just watched that about three weeks ago, and by accident. I was flipping channels.

I never noticed that about "City on the Edge of Forever", either!  That is cool!

By the way, I wonder if kiowhatta knows that his leaving-in-a-huff post now has so many replies that the website's paging control can't display the page numbers correctly.

As many time as I've watched City on the edge of Forever, I cannot believe I never noticed that. Fascinating!!!

(Sorry! I just couldn't help myself.... Embarrassed)

Okay, you have to check this out. It is a web site dedicated to the 40 acre backlot for Desilu Studios. The backlot was used for exterior camera shots for Gone With The Wind, The Andy Griffith Show, Adventures of Superman, Star Trek, The Real McCoys, My Three Sons, Gomer Pyle, USMC, Hogan's Heroes, Miami Undercover, Batman, Bonanza, Land of the Giants, That Girl, Mayberry R.F.D, The Green Hornet.

http://www.retroweb.com/40acres_desilu_years.html

Nice!

And of course, on occasion, some of the shows above would accidentally 'cross over'...as in this famous shot from Trek's 'City On The Edge of Forever' episode, shot on the same lot as 'Mayberry,' without having bothered to change the signage:

Ain't TV great?Big Smile

You must have noticed that when Arlene, who Ernie was talking about, wasn't in the shot. Eh? Nudge, nudge....wink, wink...

I was fully capable of multi-tasking.

Arlene Martel...Marj Dusay...and the exquisite Leslie Parrish...that show had some of the finest of '60s TV 'babe-dom' as guest stars!Devil

I'm impressed. Closest I can come to multi-tasking is walking and breathing at the same time.

I really enjoyed the series Get Smart,it was so ahead of it’s time.So many funny parts.

”Sorry about that”

the cone of silence

shoe phones

KAOS

Hymie the robot

Now that you mention it, if Green Acres is my #1 sitcom, Get Smart must be #2. I also love that show. Mel Brooks rocks.

This is a bit ridiculous on the OP's end. This thread gets started as a complaint that there aren't enough responses to his post.  Here we are five friggin' pages later and not one response or attempt to start posting again.

It says alot.....

To my fellow modeler,

I had first joined, (I’m only a new modeler (2 years, possibly 3 years), I had no reply’s as well in the beginning, after my 5th post or so, I have thousands of followers.  But recently, due to medical issues with my wife (Brain Tumor, Brain Infection, and a recent brain swelling), and myself (seizures and bitting my tongue seriously of where I could not speak, eat nor sleep) I,ve also had a work related injury in 5/5/2010  I’ve had to stop all reply’s as well as posts.  I currently suffer major TBI Traumatic Brain Injury and issues with post traumatic brain and body injuries that I suffered from 5/5/2010, wow that was almost 9 years ago!

Due to this fact that I just stopped replying/posting since November, many FSM Forum Members have emailed me, sent me Models, and have sent get well cards-and Christmas cards I’ve been ecstatic about the personal care and love from my fellow FSM Forum Members.  These members are now my family!  “Do Not Give Up“ nor be disheartened by the lack of reply’s, just look at the reply’s here.

I’ve just returned from my medical absence today, 1/17/2019, and will contribute on my last post, you’ll see what will happen.  A handfull of post and starting a new post with a new modeler, my 2 year old grandson, let’s see what will happen?  Lol!  Please have some patience, due to FSM changing their posting/replying company (I’ve had to create a screen name and a new password)!  Oh boy, I thought what a disaster.

But with patience and perserverence, during the Christmas and New Year 2018 to 2019, celebration I knew it would be a while before I could post again.  But here I am, with my resolution now after my wait, I am as Tosh!  I was Toshi but Tosh is good enough.  See and wait is my.  I tell you once again, these members are my “Family”.

Your Friend, From Your Family,

Tosh

I take it that's a warning? Will curiosity win out?

Inquireing mind's , want to know......

I too would like an "In-Depth" explanation of this 229 thread ......

( just how far "Off-Topic" will this put us ?)

I can't recall the exact detailks and i can't find the thread. maybe someone else can, thats if it wasn't deleated. But from what i remember, someoneposted a thread related to the German Ho 229 aircraft. He got some resonses he didn't like and sort of got upset by them. This of course caused a counter reaction which lead to the thread ending up a bit like this one and 229 becoming a running joke.

Thats my memory of it anyway, but it must have been 6 years ago at least.
