Just joining the forum.  I am primarily an aircraft builder.  I like to build "representative" models instead of 100% perfect.  You don't look at the Mona Lisa with a microscope.  LOL.  I've done some scratchbuilding and been pretty happy with the results.  It's about enjoying the time.  I retired from working.  Now to post a request for 1/48 motorcycle wheels in the appropriate forum for a scratchbuild.

Hi, Bob, welcome to the forum!

As far as your request for 1/48 motorcycle wheels goes, if it's a military motorcycle, you could try in the Armor forum (Tamiya has an American MP motorcycle in one of their 1/48 sets, if I remember correctly); that's probably the most pertinent.  Beyond that, there's a Diorama forum, and a Scratchbuilding forum, too.

I look forward to seeing your builds!

Best regards,

Brad

I should add that I think Bandai made an American motorcycle in one of their 1/48 sets, back in the day, but I may be misremembering that.  I recently picked up a couple examples of their Jeep kit, to use the Jeeps with some of my 1/48 aircraft (one each USAAF, USN, and USMC). During my searches, I seem to recall seeing a US Army motorcycle.

Best regards,

Brad

Welcome BobR!  Doing some representational modeling myslef on a couple builds.  Threw some P-47D-30 decals on a P-47-D-27.  When I was young there were just two types of P-47s anyway, Razorbacks and Bubbletops. I am building a Bubbltop.  Hope you enjoy the Forums.
