Hi there!
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 2:19 PM
I've made a few posts here already, but I guess I should introduce myself. I've started doing models again after taking about a 20 year break. I finally have finished one at the encouragement of a friend. Now the big question, I like to have multiple projects going at once, since I finally finished one, I've got to start on the next. I've got a PL Enterprise and a D-7 in progress, but what next? I've got a couple of Hasegawa Macross kits, a 1/35 M1 kit, an Ecto-1 and an old Man In Space set that kinda got me thinking about modeling again. I've also got a bunch of gaming minis to paint, but I seem to have put them down for a while--some have been stuck in primer for a couple of months now.

Oh, here's pictures of my Charger I just finished. I wanted to try out a bunch of different techniques, some were more successful than others, but it definetly was a learning experience. There's in progress photos of the other models on the site, too. Just go to the album Models up in the right corner. For the first model I've finished in ages, I'm pretty proud of it.

Thanks guys.

Here's pics of my other stuff (all work in progress):

PL Klingon D-7:

Oh yeah, my three year old daughter decided she wanted to build some models after always accompanying me to the hobby shop:

She was two when this started. The Bel-Air she did completely by herself, the Mystery Machine she had a little help on. The paintjobs are completely hers. Her next project is a couple of rockets. I'm a proud dad. Big Smile [:D]

I had to laugh when we were picking it out. She first picked up a Humvee, and I thought 'Alright! Her conversion to the Dark Side is complete'. Then she put it down, and grabbed one of those Lindbergh Hoppin' Hydros vans. I tried to talk her out of that Thumbs Down [tdn]. Then she saw the Bel-Air, put all the others ones down, and went up to the counter to pay for it.

It was really a pretty good kit--it had stickers instead of decals, so she was able to put everything together on it.

Then she wanted an airplane. I noticed there arn't too many snap-kits out there of airplanes that are quite the same quality as that Revell Bel-Air. So we went back and forth, she finally picked the Harrier, she liked the box art. She did have trouble with it, it was a little too small for her.

After she is done with the Mystery Machine, she now wants a Pink Gundam--she saw them next to the car models, and now that's all she can talk about, is a Pink Robot. She even dances like what she imagines one would do Big Smile [:D].

Mom isn't impressed. I tried to explain at least she wants a female...
