Great idea Mustang. Spent 22 years in the military, 10 regular and 12 reserves- retired from that and I have spent the last 20 years in Corrections as an officer and Deputy Superintendent (that's Warden for my American friends). Modelling is a great release after a hard day so I dont have to come and beat the pet or something like that.

I was on Death Row in ArizonaWhistling

Well as a Correctional officer when I was working for the State, I get a kick telling people that and see their eyes get as big has saucers. I first did 21 years in the Corps working Aviation Crash Rescue than moved into C-130 maintenance and retired as VMFA-(AW)- 242 maintenance Chief in 92. Than worked a number of years with Lockheed Martin Middle East in Riydah fixing RSAF C-130's and training their people. Than got into the Corrections field, first with Texas than Arizona. Pretty much retired and laying back now in Tucson though my former Correctional co-workers are trying to get me to come back in but it's something I don't miss but it was fun and I guess I'm thinking about it if I get too bored.

That's a good one, Archangel! My wife used to work as a case manager for the Carroll County Public Defenders Office in Georgia (we now live in Indian Trail, NC, and she's retired), going out to the county jail every day to interview the latest-n-greatest prisoners to see if they qualified for public defense. And she got only the hard-core felony cases to interview - murderers, rapists, armed robbery, etc. She's only 5'4", but she stood up to those guys and gals like they were little kids. I went there with her a couple of times just to watch her in action, and I was amazed at how she handled them all. NO WAY I would've had a job like that. My hat's off to you for that line of work (corrections), and for your service as a fellow Devil Dog. Ooh Rah, Marine!

Hello everyone,

I retired from the Navy about 22 years ago and now work in bakery of one of our local super markets.

I also have more kits to build than I'll ever complete in my life time.

My stash isn't that big but I think I have more than I can get done also considering the fact that it takes me roughly a year to fiinish a kit on average.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum. There must be something about military / ex-military members modeling. I am currently a serving member of the Australian army, in the Royal Australian Engineers as a combat engineer specializing in the use of explosives and the disposal of UXO's. Good job and love it thoroughly.

Hey Everyone!  There are some great occupations here!  Here's mine: I've been an Accountant for about 20 years, the last 10 working for a hospitality group here in Charleson, SC.  I've been the CFO for the last 3 years or so.  Been modelling since I was a kid, but took a break during college and my first few years of working.  It's been hard to get time to do much building Sad, but I get in as much as I can.

Hey all, I'll throw my hat into the ring. Being in the Detroit area I was the typical assembly line worker for 14 years making Jeep seats until I was laid off in '09 when the economy went sour. After a year of school I worked for a battery company in the chemical mixing room for a year. Now I work for a wind tower manufacturer as a welder. I install all the bushings and brackets in the tower that hold all the ladders and platforms and such. I've just recently been promoted to team leader of the internals crew. Cool, to see what everybody here does for a living.

I started my working life out in retail in a Tandy style store which sold general day-to-day electronics goods such as cables, TV and phone connections as well as components for electronics enthusiasts. I then did a stint in employment recruitment and house guttering before returning to retail again for a couple more years.

Now I am a police officer for the Queensland Police (state police) and loving every minute of it. Some days are rough and it's great to have something to relax and take your mind off things, hence what brings me here.
