The world cup ended for me last Wed when Germany went out. Though it was a small consolation to see Argentina go out, never thought i would hear myself cheering for France Big Smile

Germany did not make it out of group play.  They will watch from home.

Thanks,

John

Two games decided today by penalty kicks.  Very fun tournament. With Argentina and Germany out my only surviving pick in the office pool is Brazil.  Be up for that one tomorrow!

Thanks,

John

Saw that game, or rather, I took a nap and woke up in time to see the penalty kick ending. Congrats to Croatia!

Been a great group stage.  I had picked Argentina to win as I love Messi but with the upsets and teams playing their hearts out - this why it’s the greatest sporting event in the world.  Japan beating Colombia, Mexico beating Germany all great spectacle!  It’s also great that with all the division in the world, we collectively stop arguing and fighting for a month every four years to unite around the drama that is the World Cup.

My wife is Korean so that is by default my favorite side after the USA.  As for the US not qualifying, the Italians and Dutch also failed, and besides maybe this is the shakeup that US soccer (at least on the men’s side) needs - let’s remeber our women‘s side is still the best in the world, too.

It is an interesting tournament so far.  Lots of unexpected results make it way more fun.

Mexico beating Germany was a huge deal down here in San Diego.

Now that was shocking. To be fair to Mexico, they are a good team and certainly not as low down as Iceland and Switzerland. But loeing your operner like that, not a good start. I am just hopeing Germany can pick themselves up for sat as Sweden will not be an easy game.

I think we might get a surprise winner this year, i just hope its not Portugal.

Croatia's 3-0 win over Argentina takes a little luster off the 1-1 victory by the team I am rooting for, Iceland.

I’m not a fan of the sport but I’ve been sucked in!  I’ve seen about 8 matchs now and I’m looking forward to more.  I was surprised to see Argentina get beat this morning.

2018 WC is a little weird starting out but good. I'm an underdog fan so today's Croatia vs Argentina match was awesome. Mexico Germany 1-0 was a pleasant surprise because since USA will not be in attendance, I'm a Mex fan.

Watching a few of the games, thrilled to see Argentina get beat like that. Been a bit of a strange one so far with none of the top teams playing well.

Predict Russia to win after officials red card entire Croatian team...
