Phew, sometimes i think i have too many hobbies. But some of you guys must stay very busy!

For me, I love motorcycle riding. Grew up on dirt bikes and 4-wheelers. When I was 19 years young I took my passion to the streets. Over the years I have had several motorcyels, my current is a 2020 Kawasaki ninja zx6r that I bought last year.

I am also a gearhead for cars. I have a fully built subaru STi that is making just shy of 700 horsepower to the wheels.

Another hobby I love is playing airsoft. I attend one or 2 military simulation games every year with a group of friends.

HooYah Deep Sea

Had to decide which thread to put this in, 'other hobbies' or 'what did you see today'

Either way, here it is.

Dang, I wonder if I can make any money doing this?

Yes. Though hard to tell, the fire is like 30 miles away from my place, where this shot was taken. As of this morning I can't tell 'visually' what the status is.

"Why do I do this? Because the money's good, the scenery changes and they let me use explosives, okay?"

They're saying a couple hundred acres, west of crooked river ranch.

You can pull up the interagency updates by going to NWCC.  Just plug that into your search engine.  They update around 8 in the morning and sometimes about 5 in the evening. Generally only fires over 100 acres, but this one's not there yet.

You can get a summary, or zoom into a map showing the footprint.  Gives info for OR and WA.

Yeah, after twenty years in Southern California and the eight years here, I'm quite familiar with the interagency wild fire tracking sites. Back in 2006-2007, my life was pretty much dictated by their morning report. I was working at one of the Indian Casinos and my then-wife, and a number of friends were with the Border Patrol.

Great pic.  Living in SoCal since I was  17 I've seen too many like it.  I live about 10 miles from Barona Casino.  Fire season is my second biggest concern about living in CA ;)

Thanks,

John

Keavdog, then you remember when fire swept from near Ramona, all the way down the Barona Valley and then all the way down Wild Cat Canyon. It was one of the very few time the casino actually closed.

Don't feel alone.  Now we have one cooking up on top south of Detroit lake.  Closed the road about 3 miles short of my mining claims.  Yours was around 4,000 acres at 4PM

ya, there were two that I recall.  The Cedar fire and the Witch Creek fire.  I was in Scripps Ranch in 2003 when the Cedar fire burned 350 of my neighbors homes.  I've been evacuated 4 times or so.

Thanks,

John

My main hobbies are modeling, RC trucks and airplanes, detailing full-size vehicles, and shooting guns. I also enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy camping in our small 5th wheel camper. I also consider mowing the grass one of my getaways, LOL! I put on a podcast or an audiobook and enjoy some "me time" for about 2.5 hrs.
