Sorry to hear of your loss, Goldhammer.

Despite that sad news, you guys are making me hungry for a very bad breakfast darned near anywhere. But in the real world, I'll stick to my oatmeal with freshly picked blueberries and a couple slices of wheat toast, I suppose.

I keep it simple, 1 small Hass Avocado peeled, chopped to creamy consistency, salt, pepper and lemon juice. Spread over Italian 5 grain bread toast....yummy!

Because I'm a diabetic, I have to be on a diet. 1 cup of cereal with 1 cup of 2% milk and a banana. But, whenever I get a chance, a 3 egg Western omlet or Farmers omlet with hash browns and 2 pieces of toast w/jelly.  Believe it or not, the first one has 66 carbs which is all I'm supposed to have at a meal. The second has around the same. Guess which one I would prefer more often. Oh, and a cup of good hot coffee, straight.

Breakfast would depend on where I was at the time.

Usually on my first two tours overseas it would end up with whatever was left at the snackbar at the armory.  Usually a couiple doughnuts and abottle of soda, but if I was really luck I could get a water buffalo cheese burger before heading to post.  Otherwise it was whatever the dininghall could slap together.

After I got married it was usually just some cerial or maybe I could patrol near the dining hall or base ops and grab something i could eat while driving

In N.D., anything hot in our dining facility downstairs in the flight ops building.

When I used to work it would be a stop at Dunkin for a coffee and something or Wawa for almost the same.

Now that I don't have a job, back to cerial, kor waffels, or sausage and biscquicks.

The breakfast burrito at The English Rose Rincon Puerto Rico.  Pork sausage, 3 eggs, sharp cheddar, and pico de gallo.  I have them hold the sour cream.  Everything at this place is just amazing.  If you're  ever in Rincon you gotta go.

Hate to ask, but what is breakfast?

My lady would do me up a couple eggs and a couple slices of sourdough toast and butter.  Now that she passed this last Saturday, I'm back to not worrying about anything till around noon.

These all sound great.  My favorite breakfast is well made Huevos Ranchros but on the subject of breakfast sandwichs:

Fried egg, couple strips of bacon, hasbrown patty topped with cheddar on a toasted everything bagle.

Or any breakfast sandwich out on a overnight fishing charter.  The sea and the morning make everything tasted good :)

Thanks,

John

Bacon, wrapped in bacon, with a side of bacon .  .  . on a toasted English muffin, but only because you said 'sandwich'.

Now back when I was with the Teams .  .  . the roach coach that cruised the base had a mondo-grande monstrosity that probably didn't qualify as a burrito; bacon, egg, hash browns, cheese and pico de gallo salsa. It was almost a foot long and three and a half inches in diameter, and ungodly good, especially after a long PT run.

"Why do I do this? Because the money's good, the scenery changes and they let me use explosives, okay?"

There's a really good Mexican food take out downstairs from my office.

I usually get a burrito with scrambled eggs, potatoes, chorizo and extra crema. They cook the eggs in salsa.

Real mexican burritos are not those big Gordo whoppers, sized more like an egg roll.

El Charrito (the little cowboy).

First I make an egg frittata with bacon, spinich, Gruere cheese and grape tomatoes. When the fittata is finished cooking I cut it into round patties using a metal burger ring form. Then I butter a toasted English muffin. I put the frittata pattie on the bottom of the muffin and place a slice of American cheese on top. Into the microwave for 15 seconds to melt the cheese. Next comes a pattie of breakfast sausage and finally the top of the muffin. It is served with fresh orange juice and hot Pete's coffee. Way better than an Egg McMuffin.
