Without the intention of opening old and sore wounds, I wanted to bring this back to the top for those that have been away.....

"...failure to do anything because someone else can do better makes us rather dull and lazy..."

Mortal as I am,I know that I am born for a day.  But when I follow at my pleasure the serried multitude of the stars in their circular course, my feet no longer touch the Earth...

We've started a GB honoring those that have passed on.  It was for Toshi, but also for Hunter, Lewbud, the professor, John Tilly.

Open ended, and worthwhile to look at it on the shelf, and remember.

Very sad to hear this news.  I loved Toshi's enthusiasm.

I am rarely on the forum anymore, just busy with business and life. It's tough to see when someone passes. Some people have been on here for many years.

Stay well everyone.

I will miss Toshi very much and reading this today to find out that Toshi has left us much too soon has left an empty space inside me.

I had extended an open invitation to "Mr & Mrs Toshi" to come over the pond when everyone was well enough to travel and they were looking forwards to the opportunity which with great sadness will now not happen.

He will be missed very much by this community.

RIP.

It was good to follow his work and see the progress he made while working on his modeling skills.  So sorry to learn of his passing tonight.

I listened to the song Justin. Very powerful, very moving.

That's too bad.  He was a super positive person.  Last threads I recall were around stamp collecting.   He lead such an interesting life.   Happy to have crossed paths.  RIP my friend.

Thanks,

John

This is indeed very tough news. Toshi's passing is a very saddening and profound loss.

To me, he was the true embodiment of what a wonderful FSM forum member is. I will never forget my time and experience here with him. He was a joy to this world and to all of us. Rest in Peace My Friend.Bow Down

Truly sad news. I have heard the expression "attitude is everything, pick a good one" and he exemplified that in the extreme. It always amazed me that given all that he had been through he was likely to be the one cheering up other forum participants. He will be sorely missed and I will be praying for his wonderful wife and family.

Like everyone here, I followed Allen's frenetic building pace with an equal amount of admiration and awe. He’d have another kit completed in the time it’d take me to open a box and look through the sprues. The improvement of his skills at the bench was pretty amazing too. He was always so gracious responding to comments in the forums as well. Beyond his model building abilities though, I think what I admired most about him was his absolutely amazing spirit. How many of us could suffer such a horrible life altering accident and still be so upbeat and positive? I have no guarantees that I could. There was never one note of self pity or "woe is me" ever in his posts, not even when his wife was so sick. He lived a life worth admiring imho. Rest easy Toshi.

Sorry guys, I meant to post the obituary here.  I wanted to reach out to each and everyone of you that posted on this thread first as I knew some were pretty close to him on a personal level

He lived the next city over from where I work. We were eventually going to get together for some coffee and talk shop but that never happened, as life gets in the way. His positivity and personal transparency was certainly a breath of fresh air in this world and this forum. May he rest of in peace.

i don't thing I have ever been so sad to hear of a faceless name on the internet's passing, but I always looked forward to his posts and hearing about his adventures with Ezra!  Perhaps it's because I am still a little raw from losing my dad this summer, but I shed a little tear that his light is no longer shining here in this life...

im sharing this as a dedication to him, amd my dad.  Please, everyone take a minute and listen!

This is very sad to hear of his passing. He had such a kind and positive presence here on the forum at all times. I'm sure in real life, those that knew him best can attest to the true wonderful presence of his soul.

Yeah, after all the health issues Toshi and his wife went though he always kept a sunny and positive attitude- I don't think I'd have had that kind of strength.

We're all the lesser for his loss.

I am truly saddened to hear this.  Toshi was a kind and gentle soul, and clearly doted on his grandson, Ezra.  My condolences to his family, and to all who suffer from his loss.

Last I recall hearing from Toshi he mentioned he had contracted Covid but that I think he was doing Ok. Maybe my memory is wrong, don't know.

Either way-- a great light was taken from this world at his passing. He is missed.

I can imagine Toshi in his heavenly mansion and there are many models there to dazzle all of his visitors.
