A member of our club did a diorama similar. Saucer crashed in that position with the pit broken open. One alien sitting on the dirt at impact site holding head in hands and another coming out of the pit. Police car pulling up. Second alien says to first "Hey dude, what's your dad going to say about this?" He took second place in Humorous model catagory. There were others too. Great subject with endless possibilities.

Someone has already beat me to it!?!
Good to know Jim because I had been thinking about doing the same thing as soon as I could find an "in scale" Santa.

Gil: Well, what do you get someone that has everything? A real Spitfire I suppose!!! That is awesome! Cool

Merry Christmas to all on the forum and here is hoping that the coming year will bring a bit more normalcy. But as many have said this is a pretty darned good hobby to have in times like these! Thanks to all those that share their wonderful work and help us all learn. I will close with a feeble attempt at some scale modeling holiday humorBig Smile

PS. I copied the image from a random internet site that I have long since lost track of and then added the text. I believe I remember them referring to this gentleman as "Mr Spitfire" but I have been unable to find any further info about this pic.

Gamera I will fit right in with your family. And thank you.Santa surfing thats a new one for me.When I was stationed in the Greek islands I played santa for the orphanages and one day some airplanes landed at my base . There was nobody to direct them in so I went out and did that in my santa outfit. Boy did I get alot of smiles and well wishing from the aircrews and even a thankyou from an amazed admiral.

Space Ranger

In lieu of "Christmas" greetings this year, I am advised by the legal department to post this message instead:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2022, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great, neither to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only "America" in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee(s).

IMPORTANT: This message is intended for the use of the individual addressee(s) named above and may contain information that is confidential, privileged or unsuitable for overly sensitive persons with low self-esteem, no sense of humor, or irrational religious beliefs. If you are not the intended recipient, any dissemination, distribution or copying of this message is not authorized (either explicitly or implicitly) and constitutes an irritating social faux pas. Unless the word “absquatulation” has been used in its correct context somewhere other than in this warning, it does not have any legal or grammatical use and may be ignored. No animals were harmed in the transmission of this message, although the Yorkshire terrier next door is living on borrowed time, let me tell you! Those of you with an overwhelming fear of the unknown will be gratified to learn that there is no hidden message revealed by reading this warning backwards, so just ignore that Alert Notice from Microsoft; however, by wearing a tinfoil hat and pouring a complete circle of salt around yourself and your computer you can ensure that no harm befalls you and your pets. If you have received this message in error, please add some nutmeg and egg whites and place it in a warm oven for 40 minutes. Whisk briefly and let it stand for 2 hours before icing. Close cover before striking

Space Ranger, that is just awesome! I laughed my head off....... so I'm sueingBig Smile, just as soon as I can find my head.

A very merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year to all. Thanks for all the encouragement, support and laughs during 2021.

That looks like my lady dressing up 65lbs of poodle in a hat, sweater, and ankle bells.  Don't know how dog put up with it, but she looked real unhappy every year when the outfit came out of the drawer.

Cliff's notes version.....just another day on the third rock.  Though in my case it's a boxer instead of a Yorkie, but I'd prefer the little yappy one.

I also want to wish all of the modelers on this forum a very Merry Christmas!  This forum and the various modeling podcasts have help me to get through the last two years of quarantine.  I've been to only one local contest(only person to wear a mask ) and our local club held its first meeting in 20 months last month(only person to wear a mask) unfortunately we're not meeting in December due to the holiday and the Omnicron variant.  This forum has given me a chance to reach out to individuals who share my same interests.  So I also want to say "THANKS"!  I hope that 2022 will be the end of this pandemic so that we can return to a sense of normal.
