Colorful, For Sure

Hi Ya'll;

        I just recieved my "Contest Cars" special. Well, let me tell you! Model car Builders from Mr.Mike(here) to some I've never heard of have certainly upped the game. There were nothing short of awesome models in that mag!

       I will have to admit though the one that held my gaze the longest was a 1950s era Rail Service and Recovery Truck. Why? Well, the last thing I expected to see was this kind of vehicle with M.K.T. markings! Missouri, Kansas ,Texas was the rail line that was responsible for the erection of the building that stands today as the New Braunfels,Tx. Railroad Museum.

      They were one of several  Railroads, this building was owned by. One of the others that has historical signifigance is International and Great Northern! I know it's rail stuff, but seeing a Car Modeler do one of these was a trip back in history for me, the former President of the Museum and Chairman of the board.

      With that said, this proves that any model can have a story to tell, whether it's from a personal perspective or a tongue in cheek stab at society's norms(Ed "Big Daddy"Roth's cars) so keep on modeling. You know thinking about this, It would be nice to have special magazines (yearly or Bi-Annual) that shine the spotlight on the rest, From to "A" for Armor all the way to scratchbuilt subjects of any kind.      NOTE:  I do know this much, the issue does NOT disappoint in any way in my mind.Thanks, Kalmbach!
