OK, here's some clues:
It's named for a valley in Israel, part of the East African Rift Valley. Come on folks...I'm sure you can easily Google the answer! Let's see, it starts with an A, has in fact 3 letter a in it's name, and is 5 letters long...

I'm afraid not, the RCN was almagamated with the RCAF and Canadian Army in 1968, 14 years before the Hornet entered Service. The Hornet is operated by AIRCOM, the RCAF descended portion of the Canadian Forces.

Note the RCN's only Jet Fighter was indeed operated from a Carrier, which is something Canada hasn't had since 1970.
