My screen name here, and everywhere else online is Cardshark_14.  My family has a tradition around this time of year where we all get together and play hearts.  We have a lot more cut-throat of rules that are common in Indiana, but aren't included in the MS or Hoyle versions of Hearts. For as long as I can remember, we've played a nickel a point.  So, games are very lively, and you get good really quick.  I started winning my fair share around the age of 12, and someone called me a cardshark.Cool [8D]

My birthday is the 14th of August, and there you have the story of my screen name.  My avatar is Hobbes planning some mischief, which is personally very fitting, as I'm a huge prankster at times. Plus, who doesn't love Calvin & Hobbes?!

Cheers,
Alex

A few years ago when I was a competition shooter I once put away my standard 1911 style comp gun in favor of a standard Heckler and Koch USP pistol. About the same I became the scorekeeper for the pistol club and thought I needed an email fellow shooters would recognize. HKshooter seemed natural and I've had it since.

The avatar, well, I like dragons. I spotted it online somewhere and it just felt right. It fits me in ways I cannot speak of.

Mine's boring, just my first initial and last name. I don't use screen names other than on one gaming forum where I'm Str8shooter.

The avatar is a Remembrance Day poppy worn in Canada as a sign of respect and remembrance for our fallen soldiers.

So long folks!

My Avatar is in honor of my late grandfather who was a Seabee in WW II.

My Screen Name is taken from one of those Standardized Tests kids are subjected to in school. In addition to the Iowa Test we had to take something called the MAT or MAAT 6. I have no idea what those tests were for, but we had to do them every year.

Since my name is Matt, everyone in my class thought it was really (sarcasm) funny to call me Matt Six. The nickname stuck all the way through high school.

Screen name comes from my job. I'm a Navy Firefighter. Avatar is my 2 year old son Nick after demolishing some ice cream cake a couple of weeks ago.

My avatar is a picture of an embroidered logo off one of my Dads Navy Uniforms - Master Diver

Summit is short for Summit Chaser which I was known to most of my mountaineering friends in Colorado as my goal was to climb all the fourteeners (mountains over 14,000 ft)

My favorite comic book in the 60's was Enemy Ace, along with Sergeant Rock and The Haunted Tank, etc... In 1998, I started flying a WW1 air combat sim called Red Baron II, then later Red Baron 3-D, on-line and most of the other sim-pilots took historical WW1 pilot names, but there were three of us who went with fictional ones, Von Hammer, Bruno Stachel (The Blue Max), and Steve Savage (The Balloon Buster).  There was also a dedicated Red Baron Forum from Sierra, the makers, so I was Hans von Hammer there as well, and have been ever since..   We actually have some real-world events in which we all get together for big "Red Baron Party", and no one can remember anyone's names, so we're all known by our screen personas all weekend..

It even carried over into my WW2 re-enactments, my character's name is Von Hammer during those events too.  I have a complete "biography" of my character in my Soldbuch, hometown, Mother, father, siblings, relatives, all the stuff that would have been in a real German Soldbuch...

My avatar changes from time to time, but right now, it's a pic of me modeling the P-82 Twin Mustang..

I really liked the Wesley Snipes "Blade" series of movies, and thought the name they called him (Daywalker) was cool.  So, I went with it. Wink [;)]

And so the post comes around again!.....(this thread is an annual occurence!)

Mine comes from the term my girlfriend uses for "dog". She calls her two Shepherd/Sheepdog/Rotweiler mixes her "doogs"

One day when she was really having a bad day, her doogs nonetheless came up to her when she got home like she was the greatest thing since canned doog food--kissing her, cheering her up.

She made a comment; "It doesn't matter how bad you feel, nobody loves you like your doogs"

Ergo, I had to be a "doog" too! Big Smile [:D]

My avatar is me on my racing bike--a 1997 Suzuki RMX250 two-stroke Enduro bike--the perfect "Woods Weapon"! FMF pipe, Wiseco piston, Boyeson Reeds, TITAX billet aluminum raiator hose advanced cooling insert and custom allot sprockets, suspension by HYGEAR

Yes it's fast!

No, you can't ride it!

Avatars/screen names what about yours?
Posted by rabbiteatsnake on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 9:16 PM
So I was just thinking one day when rabbit eat snake popped into my head, I thought it so curious that I used it. Made a big ol pen & ink sketch posted it, looked like a coffee stain, went back to the hellcat painting. A coworker thought the screen name was rabbi-teat-snake, also evocotive.   So how about yours, some are funny "jeebus" some are cool "Hans von hammer and some I don't get at all "Ajlafleche". so take the time & tell us about yours.
