Like a couple others I only ever have one on the go at a time and I usualy grind through the sanding/filling/detailing parts of construction. It's when I get to paint and decaling that I get excited again.

Right now I'm doing the 1/32 Tamiya F-16 with a fairly high level of detail. So I've been building the GE F110 engine that comes with it for some time now. But being a jet engine mechanic myself the lack of piping and wiring harnesses etc drove me nuts so I endevored to dress the engine using mostly 0.010, 0.015 and 0.020 diameter styrene. I need help. Seriously.

But it's slow and boring so it's been on the go for months now.

My biggest problem is that I like to read a lot, so my current "passion" is always changing faster than I can finish the builds!  Surprise

Between work and my family I seem to get side tracked frequently. I have large plastic tubs with lids which I put all the material for each individual project. That keeps everything ready for me when time and mood allows.

Sure, I get stalled on every build. I have some stalls going back years, and one permanently enshrined in the Stalled Build Hall of Fame.

But seriously, it happens. Just go with the flow and get to it when you can. I'm sure you've heard it before, but its a hobby, after all.... :)

Oh yeah. I have a ship that got put to the side due to broken parts (my bad) and frustration. I'm waiting on some spare money (yeah right) to get a photo etched detail set for it so I can finish it.

Thanks for the encouragement, guys.

While I haven't had any issues recently with getting stalled on the hobby in general, it happens all the time with several individual projects.  I will use what time I have to work on something, but the "assembly line" tends to have some cycling through before a lot of the projects are completed because I get stuck on one or more of the projects.

I guess maybe it's not so bad since some kind of progress is being made at all times, or is that just rationalizing?

Anyhow, I've got several models thiiiiis close to being done as mentioned on the "First build of 2010" thread and will be sure to post them here when they're finished.

I believe my biggest issue is paint.  I have two brand new airbrushes that have never thrown paint, because I screwed up two paint jobs with an airbrush once and now I have this thing...I would really like to find a live class where I could learn by doing WITH an instructor.

Do you have a LHS or a Club nearby? Go in there and ask for help, I'm sure someone would be willing to show you the ropes! Also, check and see if any craft stores in the area give classes or lessons (Hobby Lobby, Michael's, even JoAnn Fabrics might have something).
