Bronto

Currently sitting at 3821 unbuilt (and I'm the one with the semi-trailer  Big Smile )

Just curious have you been seen for having OCD?

And I worry about how to build up a large stash. I think I will stay with 9 kits.

the funny part about stashes is ,,,,even with 100 to 3800 models, there are still likely to be models "missing" from our planned collections if we got them all built

I didn't get the 1/72 RF-4EJ Kai kit when it first came out,,,,now, I probably won't, unless some guy wants to get rid of his for collector prices,,,,,same with the Fujimi F7U-3M with VA-116 decals,,,,I had to use an FJ-4B for the VA-116 slot ,,,,a lot of times when a boxing sells out,,,,,,that "was my chance",,,,,if I miss it, I might never see one again,,,,,or become rich to get it

almost gone

Woah! I think we all have a common thread on kits, all of us hope to build them all before we die. That being said I best build some out of the box.

Last count was 40 boxed, many figures and accesories combined in boxes to reduce the ex significal other's glares. Of that about 10 are in various stages of completion. All this stash is 3000 miles away tucked away in the motorhome's closet. The new Tamiya 1/32 scale Spitfire has been ordered and should arive soon!

On the bench: 1/144 Mini Me 262 93% complete. 1/32 P-51 Mustang 20% two figures complete for P-51, may enter then in local contest seperately on custom base.

My 1/48 TSR.2 is coming to a close, hopefully today or tomorrow. This mean the "stash" 1/72 Tu-160 will be moving to the bench & the "stash" will officially be ZERO, mind you the Tu-160 should take a couple of months anyway.

At least this gives me some time to figure out some believable nonsense excuses (for her indoors, not me) for shelling out £90 on Trumpeters Tu-22-M3!

About 25 at the moment. It was up to 40 or so but i made a conscious decision to build some before i bought any more. If i can keep it steady at 25 i'll be happy.

That and finding good deals is exactly why I think most of us with stashes have them. Too many times of going in to finally buy some kit that has been a staple on the hobby shop shelf for years just to find out it has gone out of production. Then we spend the next year looking for it only to find it is now selling at 2x the retail price if you can find it at all.

I've probably only paid full price for 1 in 10 kits in my stash, and paid 1/2 price or less on many, so over the long run I've saved a bunch of money. I do intend to build every last one in the stash, and yes I do plan on living forever. Big Smile

Last count for me is about 10 armor kits in the stash and 8 accessory sets(tarps, guns, jerry cans.)

My stash would be bigger, but unfortunately there's only two model shows in my area each year. That means I only have two chances to purchase kits on the cheap, otherwise I'm stuck paying full price at my LHS.

I've only got about 25 model kits, but when you add in all the little accessory kits and figures to go along with an aircraft, ejection seats, etc.. I'd say it's probably 35-40.

I've done my own budget freeze on my stash.  First of all I don't have the space and second, I like having good decals.  I store all my decals in ziploc but prefer to work with relatively new decals just in case.

I would say that between 1/72nd scale aircraft, 1/144th scale A/C, 1/35th and 1/72 scale armor, and many auto models, I count around 148. This does not include those 1/144 scale Dragon kits that contain TWO complete models.

I ought to show this thread to my Mother! maybe then she'll stop breathing down my neck about my little stash! Whistling

I have 40 kits (Mostly 1/48, many 1/72, and one 1/32) all airplanes. I got 20 of these in one fell swoop at the latest Model Contest. That one vendor had some awesome deals!

sf_plane_nut, do you work at a hobbyshop, and they pay you in free model kits? Correction: I think you own a hobbyshopWink  (With all seriousness, I whish I had that many kits to build. At least I wouldn't be bored over the summer)

I have about 15 or so 1/2 built kits and about 4-5 unbuilt kits (I'm looking foward to the model of the '49 Mercury. It includes White-walls! I'm going to do it as soon as I finnish the F-7F Tigercat)

Just getting back into this but I have 34 cars, 15 planes and 9 military vehicles.  All are older than 15 years old with most of them being from the early to mid 80s.  Half of the cars are Ford Pro Stocks and Trans Am cars while the other half are Ford Muscle cars.

On Ed's bench, ???

I'm not that old yet but my stash is coming along nicely, I have about 25+ kits I haven't finished or started yet. I always find myself almost done with one project when I want to start working on something new so I have a lot of almost finished models.

Models on the bench:

Too many to count!
