Heck Manny, Doc Fermis would be dangerous if he was painting em with a squirt gun from the gumball machine in front of Walmart.

Fermis I have the same air brush and love it, cant wait to see what else you can do with it after that NMF finish I just saw. My compresser is one of Harbor Freights 3 gal tank units its  very quiet running and I like having the tank.

Fermis I am amazed at the great work Wally and you achieved. If you can paint that good with Wally look out !you will be dangerous with the new brush. I had that same brush years ago and gave it to a friend who still uses it and does great work also. To Wally you got your moneys worth.

Poor Wally - never knew what hit him did he? Didn't notify the next of kin until now either...

I still have his Canadian cousin in my tool stash, bring him out every so often to do a big coverage of primer, gloss etc. Doesn't do ANYTHING spectacularly but still soldiers on as my easy clean-up option, backing up my little Badger single-action.

You're ahead of me, Fermis, I have a Paasche VL airbrush, and a Craftsman compressor, but a leaky Paasche hose, so I'm still not operational with an airbrush.

I don't know if I'd have buried mine, though, I think more about mounting things like that on a plaque with a little inscription and hanging it on the wall

Looking back at all your contest winning builds I would think getting Wally bronzed would be a more fitting farewell. Or cut him up in tiny pieces and hide the remains in the fuselages of all your 2011 builds for luck, maybe a few parts could be incorporated into scratch built details to honor his devoted service.

Paint like me?  I think you are already way past me, I can't even imagine where you are going to be with this new toy.  Looking at your builds, I would have thought you had a setup like this from the beginning!

I bought the DA airbrush from Harbor Freight on sale for $14.99 a few months back and love it! I had been using a Badger 350 for years and though it was my trusted amigo, now it hangs unused on it's stand. Don't know how I lived without a different AB all this time!

P.S. It's on sale again! I may pick up another as a back-up!

The regulator on this compress makes it hard to change PSI, there is a small screw to turn. I purchased their 1/8 hp compressor, because it had a proper regulator. I love airbrushing now without  that worry of running out of air in the can.

 I can control the airflow with the trigger button. Been messin with it a bit, I'll be able to paint German spagetti in 1/72!!!!

 I don't wanna build anymore, I just want to paint now!!!

After reading this thread I buried a blender and and electric carving knife this evening...

as another note of noteworthyness... the house they filmed Pet Semetary at.. is 1 mile from my house.. I drive by it everyday going to work....

Great deal on the combo. Compressors usually go for more then that. Yours is very similar to mine and I also got the AB for something around what you paid. Got it off of ebay as a Buy it Now.

After using this thing, Wally will not be missed. It's a whole new world. Most definitely need to get a moisture trap though.

It all came together, listed at $99.99, 10% off, plus the 1 year replacement plan brought it to $107 and change.

I believe they do sell just the compressor, the brush, by itself was $19.99.

The comp. is really quite, I can't really hear it over the air coming out of the gun.

I did NOT ask permission....I didn't tell her about it either, not that she would care. She's awesome!

Fermis, now let's talk about your new toy... I have been thinking about replacing my three gal pancake air compressor from Porter-Cable that I have been using in the garage.  Because the garage has been so unusually cold this winter to do airbrushing, I want to get a quieter one so I can do it in the basement right at my workspace without waking up my family because I usually do it at late nights..  Do you recall if the store sells just air compressor without the kit?  I am interested...

Wow! Fermis, I'm anxious to know what you think of it. I'm using a Paasche VL currently but I always ponder over where I would turn if it ever breaks down. $90 for a combo is awesome considering I paid close to $200 for my Paasche set.

HOLY CRAP!!!! What a difference! It was only $90 at Harbor Freight. Double action and super quiet. I don't really miss "Wally" anymore. Can't believe I didn't do this ten years ago. Hopefully now, I'll be able to finish like "Daywalker"!!!
