I used to do most of my building on the dining room table; but the wife decided that that didn't really count as "together time" so she bought me a TV stray and now sit in my big, comfy chair with my  laptop on the TV tray and the current kit du jour on top of that!  Geeked

Our 6 year old dachshund can wake up from a dead sleep, jump off the couch and grab a road wheel I just dropped before I can even find in on the floor.  Boo Hoo

Ok, my normal "bench" is the kitchen table at home, unfortunately the family seems to think they should eat there as well, really slowing things down! But I also keep a few scraps of sanding film, a bottle of glue & an Exacto box at my office, and occasionally break out something that I can look at over lunch... or on a Friday afternoon. Whistling Just little things, assembling drop tank halves, assembling a set etc.

Where else have you worked on a kit??
