Never used anything but MM enamels, it goes on really well and cleans up with generic paint thinner sprayed through the AB.  As far as the fumes...... I throw caution to the wind.

My steps for cleaning up after enamels:

1 - Remove excess paint from cup (with dropper or paper towel or whatnot)

2 - Gargle and swab with a small amount of the "good" thinner (Testors enamel thinner)

3 - Flush through with lacquer thinner (I use the "green" kind from Lowe's...slightly less toxic...but I still wear a respirator when I shoot anything that's not Vallejo or Lifecolor.

I find it eaiser to use enamels...except the smell. I just clean it with laquer thinner I get from Ace hardware.

Enamels with an airbrush

Got some really good replies on the Tamiya paint threads.  I think the only reason I use acrylic paint is because I can clean my airbrush in my sink with tap water.  I was wondering how do you guys clean your airbrush when you use enamals?  is it expensive? is it a pain in the butt?
