Kits not molded.
Posted by Skullbuck67 on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 3:27 AM

I'm sure this subject has been posted here before but I'm curious. What car, plane, ship, etc, would you like to see molded as a kit that is currently not available?

I can think of a few.

Larger scale (1/32...even 1/24) GA aircraft....Cessnas , Pipers and whatnot. A large scale Stearman would also be nice.

1/32 OS2U Kingfisher

1/32 Most of the VVS. Hobbyboss does a few IL-2s. Trumpeter does a Mig-3. Craftworks does a very expensive and I believe out of production resin La-5. I'm especially keen on seeing a stryene La-5 (for 5FN or -7), Yak-9 or Yak-3, and Pe-2 in big scale.

On the Bench: 1/32 Trumpeter P-47 | 1/32 Hasegawa Bf 109G | 1/144 Eduard MiG-21MF x2

On Deck:  1/350 HMS Dreadnought

One more. I know resin conversions exist (or maybe existed?), and I'm sure it's possible to come at one of these by way of kitbashing, but...

In 1/35th, the stuff i am interested in, namely German armour, is very well covered. But decent early Ausf 251's would be nice.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Amen to that! Heck even in 1/700. Please anything besides an Arizona or Pennsylvania. I mean there were like 8 BBs there for crying out loud.

+1

I'd love to see large scale models of the Cessna 172 Skyhawk, or Piper Cherokee 140 that I flew when I was younger (and single) and had money for things like that.

1/35 armor- SdKfz 9/1 with the Bilstein crane. If beggars can be choosers I'd ask for the early as opposed to the late, but either at this point is ok with me. I know there's a conversion crane set out there for the Tamiya FAMO, but I want it in styrene, all in one box. Some updated WWI armor would be cool too.

1/72 aircraft- P-38E or F. Seems to me there's a void here, as the only choice is the outdated Airfix kit.

There are a few and just a few. They are not all military subjects though. Starting with my favorite car would be the 1957 FORD COUNTRY SQUIRE station wagon , with windows!

Then I would like to see a 1/72 scale  CHRIS CRAFT 65' motoryacht.

As far as the military stuff I would like to see a1/72scale78foot HIGGINS from the war

   a 1/72 scale subchaser from WW1

Probably a version of the C-119 in AFRICAN service.

  There are some light-skins too!

Take a good look , when have you seen these?

How about larger versions of the two half-tracks from MONOGRAM?

Let,s not forget the venerable M48-A-! and the others that came after.

That's all I can think of offhand. so let's see what shows up.

Plenty of Saab Viggen kits out there (as well as many of the other ones some folks posted)... The OP is looking for kits that haven't been made by anyone yet...  At least that was my understanding of his question..

True enough. I don't believe anyone has kitted a styrene SdKfz 9/1 with the Bilstein in 1/35 yet, so I'll defer to that.
