AJ, this is just the "feeler" thread. I will get a proper thread set up on the GB forum in a few days. Can anybody do up a badge for us? Preferably keeping with a Calvin in the logo. I do not have photoshop on my computer.
Count me in as well (I have one of my previous badges in my sig don't know why the other tisn't there as well?)
I'll have to see what my daughters basketball schedule is.
On Ed's bench, ???
Next weekend is the start date, November 22nd, but the end date is gonna be a floater since not everybody will have next weekend available.
Is there a date picked out or did I miss it? I never did one of these before but was just looking at a blue Skyraider to build.
Figured it would be a fun change up.
Correct
I know the specific rules haven't been posted yet, but will it be likely similar to last years? 48hrs from when you start over the specified weekend?
sounds like a fun project....48 hours thou? it'll take me that long to figure out what kit I'd want to build. Would the commander figure from my 1/35 M41 count? lets see glue 2 arms on and paint, hmm maybe doable
Oh I loved Bloom County as well... but is there any charecter there that evokes the spirit of this type of frenzied build as Calvin? Tradition after all ;-)
GMorrison Calvin and Hobbes was Razors deal. Come up with a new idea Carlos. Like Pogo or Bloom County.

If you don't mind my , I'm rather partial to Bloom County

I use that one too.
Works well and for a great price - free!
Stik, have you tried this one.

I have been using it for a while though I still need to practice to make more than basic badges. I think the Steel Cats badge was done on this, so it can produce good badges.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Ok, it sounds like we have a small group here, enough to make this a go here.
Eagle, the badges have always been Calvin & Hobbes themed, if you look on my banner at the ones that I have participated in. I will need someone to come up with one if possible. I only have MS Paint on my computer, and that is not good for creating GB badges.
And yes Eagle, that kit qualifies. ANY kit qualifies!!! Any subject, any scale. Just choose wisely.
Do the Weekend Madness builds have a badge?
Eagle90
Hey stikpusher,
Want to make sure this will qualify for the GB. Had my wife pick it out!
Well, I did it last year.....of course, it took me 3-4 tries
I'm in....
I am in
Correct... any scale, any subject, the only common theme is gettng it done in a 48 hour timespan...
Any scale any subject?
That should be doable. Sure, sounds good!
I am thinking the weekend before Thanksgiving, Nov 22, 23, 24.
Yes
Hey Stik,
I could be talked into this pretty quickly......o.k., you talked me into it! (Told you!)
How does this work anyway? Which weekend? Sorry for being so naive.
Weekend Madness 2011
Weekend Madness 2010 Weekend Madness 2009 (I still needed to go back and do touch ups on all the areas that the decals did not cover) it can be done... I build at a glacially slow pace for the most part nowadays.

Nah- it always takes me a month or two or more to complete a nice model- and I am a retired geezer with plenty of time to spend.
Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...
Yes, this is the time to turn back the clock and pull out those old kits from the stash. Nothing fancy for painting. Simple monotone or two tone schemes are in order. I have built a Tamiya KV-1, Academy M151A1C, and nearly completed an Academy F-16A Thunderbird in the time constraints.
