Our Latest Acquisitions 2017-2024
Posted by Tojo72 on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 5:20 PM

I made a suggestion that perhaps we could have a section where we can show off our latest stuff.Other sites have it and it is fun and informational to see what we all are getting. The mods never answered so Bish recommended that I start a thread in the meantime and see where it goes,so feel free to post your latest stash additions.

I went to AMPS International and picked up these

A couple of weeks ago Squadron had a pretty good sale and I grabbed this one

You and I have the same luck....I grabbed the GZ too, and now she is $5 less.  Go figure.

I know you will do a great job with the M40.

I also aquired the old Heller 1/100 HMS Victory earlier this month, but that is going to drive me totally insane with the rigging, if I ever get around to her.

HB 1/350 Arizona, Merit 1/350 Enterprise, Dragon 1/350 Laffey (to go with the CV-6),  Dragon 1/350 Scharnhorst ('43) and the 1/72 Gato are all in front once I get caught up.

This would make a cool section. I purchased two 54MM figures, Mexican gunfighter and a Somali Dubat. Also a Hobby Boss 1/72 Hind. All EBay.  Why? Why not? Lol

Here's a weird one that I inherited from a friend that he never got around to building. It's a Testors 1/12 Lamborgini Countach LP 500S. An expensive kit then and now. I'm an aircraft guy but the kit looks to be fun. The real problem is what to do with it when finished. I'm out of room for a large car. Not only that I'm 3 or 4 aircraft and a 1/72 Space  Shuttle (W.I.P./Space) that I bought at the show, behind and I just won a really cool Tamiya 1/12 Bimota Tesi 1D Motorcycle at the show also. Hmm, same scale, they might display together demonstrating the excessive life style of the elite. LOL! At least I have something to do for the immediate future. What to do! (next?)

Ok, that's my report on the new post.Confused

Max

PS--Not only that a kit usually takes months for me to build and I'm old. Maybe I'm stocked for life! LOL!

Got hold of my first new kits of the year yesterday, both e-bay buys.

I have been keeping an eye open for Hase 72nd F-111's for a while now and this one came up last week, their FB-111A, so I grabbed that quick.

Now their D/F kit is on E-Bay for auction and that's one I really want so I can do a Lakenheath aircraft, will see how that goes this week.

And this one has been on the radar for a few years, just kept putting it off. This is my first HB boxing of the Tristar kits and was I glad when these stared to re-appear.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Last 2 I picked up a few weeks ago.  Wasn't even planning on buying any kits, but how can you not when you walk into the hobby shop for a few jars of paint!

I was just going to walk out with this one but.......

I seen this one hiding in the corner and couldn't pass it up, considering it says Niagara Falls right on it, and that's where I'm from.

These have been arriving  on my door step over the past month. I wanted to post a few more but apparently P.B is acting up. I have a few more coming and will post them up when they arrive. Nice buys everyone.

Ok, P.B is acting normal again, here are the other kits.

Can't wait to get into the T-90 and the Tamiya Leopard 2a6 sitting on the shelf. Have just about everthing for the Leo 2, photoetch, taillights, kampfpanzer workable track links, metal barrel and antenna, Canadian armor decals, and probably a few other things im forgetting. Got to get my building down to a science before I take either of those monster sized mulltimedia kits on.  Working on some older cheaper Tamiya kits at the moment.

Kinetic 1:48 C-2A(R) Greyhound

It saddens me a little when I think of the larger scale car 'super-kits' that have come and gone. This one, Tamiya's coach series is gone, and the grandpappy of them all, Pocher.

I'm with Armornut, that's a nice acquisition, Max.

I remember those Pocher kits , they were museum quality with as  many parts to assemble as the real thing.   Always wanted to purchase one but the cost was too exorbitant back then ,  if you can find one now you might have to take out a small personal loan.

Bish,

Thanks,  Esci is what got me started. Despite their age they are still pretty good kits and with some mods. and fab. they can turn out as good if not better than some of the newer issued kits.

Tojo72,

Thanks,  it's the man cave, my go to place to unwind.

I built a Pocher Ferrari Testarossa, a fella gave the kit to me. Built it with only the box art pix and a few views from the internet. He had lost the instructions. I managed to make it look like the pictures, doors opened, hood lifted, trunk as well. I have no idea if it is right but it was a cool challange....not one I want to try again LOL.

Agreed, they were nice kits and my first experiance with indy tracks. I still have a couple some where i think, but the box's are not in as good condition as those.

Bish I love the Fujimi Phantoms. Remember building quite a few as a teenager. Now I wish I could find some affordable Fujimi Skyhawks

RX and Armornut, it's neat that you remember Pocher. Thanks for commenting. Smile
