Any model related goals?

Congratulations on acheving your goal ! That's one awsome carrier !

Wow, that is impressive!  Talk about dedication and planning!  I could never pull off an aircraft carrier.  I've never even seen one in person.  I can't even imagine the sheer size of something that can carry that many aircraft!  Very nice work, it's beautiful!

Nine months and 777 hours of work and my goal has been completed.

Now to set another goal.

The most important aircraft I'll do the major subtypes.  For example, I plan to have a Spitfire II, V, IX, and XII, and probably a Seafire.  For less important types, 1 variant will do.  The I-16 Type 17 will probably be the ony one I do.  More obscure aircraft will be based on production numbers, historical significance and kit price and availability.  I'm not going to stress about what to include or not.

My immediate goal is just to get back into building after a long absence.

More long term, I'm an aerospace engineer and I'd like to build one of every program I've supported over my career.  Some kits would be easier to find than others, like the AV-8B, B-1B, and Bradley.  The P-8A isn't exactly a "cool" plane, but I understand there are a few kits out there.  Future Combat Systems would be a problem.  It was cancelled and I doubt any kits exist of anything from that program.  I'm probably justified then in leaving it out, then. 

I'd also like to do a series of every MiG that entered service.  Not every single variation, but at least one of each type, and some of the more important variants, such as interceptor and recon variants of the MiG-25.

Build as many Jeep variants as I can. So far I have 4.

I'm building as complete a survey as I can of World War 2 fighters in 1/48 scale.  It started with a spitfire and a zero.

 

Now that is a huge goal when you start adding in all the lesser knowns... Are you gonna do variants like say the different Spitfire Mark types, or just one of each?

That is the bulk of my kits in my stash, followed by cars.

My goal for the new year is to get through five builds. Quite a challenge for me. You'd think at no better than I am, I would at least be faster!

I am finally doing my Tractor Trailer load of brand new 1965 Chevrolets. Its taking a awhile, I do other kits in between so I don't get to bored with the chevys

Yeah...... They have "GUN'S" !!!!!  You have glue...... you "might" get 1 of them.....

Keyda-  Might try calling the base commander's office and explaining what you are doing, and that you have tried many times to contact the base historian and public affairs with no response.

A call from the base commander will generally loosen thing up over in the PA office.

Nasty stuff generally flows downhill, and they know it.

If no joy, an email to USAF historians at the puzzle palace or Wright Pat may get some info.

I still haven't gotten any responses from the base.  My last hope is attending the air show this summer, and hopefully I can talk to someone then and obtain some info.  I have managed to collect some photographs of most of the planes, but that still doesn't tell me much.  Some of the photos of the older aircraft are in black and white, and I can't see the serial numbers. 

My goal is to finish a few every year.  Get that stash worked on.  Like others, I take far too long to build anymore.

I want to get back to where I was when at the bench almost two decades ago. I was able to get  a build done in under a month. Curently my build has evolved into what , 3 yrs. now

I just want to finish as many as I can from my 500 kit stash before I leave this world.

Looks like my goal is going to be harder to complete.  I have tried emailng the base several times about aircraft histories, and I've gotten no response.

Many, to  start and finish my 1/24 Mosquito (Airfix), my 1/32 P51 amd F4U ( Tamiya), and then a 1/350 USS Enterprise Carrier with all the AM goodies you can throw at it. 

In 1983 while serving in the U.S. Navy I was stationed with an A-7 squadron and we were aboard the USS Carl Vinson for her maiden cruise which was a cruise around the world.

Two years ago I built 1 aircraft for every squadron aboard during the cruise. This year my project is to build the aircraft carrier as she was at the start of the cruise. I started the project in May and am hoping to have it completed by December. I went a little on the extreme side by illuminating the ship. So far I have over 500' of fiber optics and about 40 LED's. Starting on building the 86 aircraft for the ship.

Nothing to lofty for me.

I am trying a scratch build of the Harbinger, a Hammerhead class frigate from Star Wars the Old Republic. I am planning a 1/1000 scale model which will be about 31 cm in length.

At this point, my goals are simple:

Improve my skills as a modeler;

Finish more models in a timely fashion, which means;

Spend more time working on models;

Figure out where to put the completed ones!

To build a kit all the way through without braking it!! LOL  I would like to continue to learn and improve on my skills. Plus, keep adding to my stash with different sizes and genre's of kits. I am at 74 kits.
