Good luck Tojo,
The ready bag is a good idea and that's what I've done in the past. Esential tools and a kit that's in the assembly stage along with a TV tray. You may never get to it during the wait but you have it incase you start to jones.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Tojo72 Well in preparing for the sale of my house and impending move,I decided to box up the stash and the work bench, tools, and supplies. I dont know when I will see some bench time again, but I will still be around posting for sure.Keep you all up to date.

Sigh... how to pack all those fragile models? I think I remember seeing an article in FSM awhile back dealing with this very issue and it gave advice as well.
Pretty sure we're going from New England to the Carolinas.
Good luck to you sir and I hope that you are able to get the factory up and running again soon's as possible!
I live in Hendersonville. Maybe when you are settled enough we can meet to swap modeling ideas.
There is a contest coming up on May 19 in Simpsonville SC if you're interested.

I've packed all my built kits. Here's what I did. I put each individual Kit in a ziploc bag. Then layered packing peanuts in a box with the kits sandwiched between layers. If anything does fall off the kits it will be in the ziploc bag

So far,I put the armor models in plastic shoe boxes, one on the large ones, two on the smaller ones.I surround them with fiber fill, which is used to stuff pillows or stuffed animals from Hobby Lobby.then I packed 6 boxes in a cardboard box, also filled with fiber fill to stop the boxes from moving. My 1/350 ships, one or two to a box with their base glued to the bottom of a cardboard box.And I will be transporting the builds, not rhe mover.
When we moved in November, we moved all the small stuff by ourselves in several trips. When I was ready, we borrowed our neice's pick up and set it up to move the model stuff. Everything was packed in boxes separately with all the heavy stuff on the bed of the truck on top of 2 large quilts for padding. Everything else was packed with loads of quilts and blankets in between the boxes and tied down every couple of rows. The models and equipment were moved in 2 trips with only 1 minor accident. My fault. I packed an Su-37 too tightly and the wheels snapped off the landing gear. No problem. Drilled them out and mounted with a wire axle. Good as new.
Good luck to all in your moves.
Jim
