That's it! the 12 days are up.
Congratulations to those who joined in and managed to complete the challenge.
Please post a completed picture in this thread of your build and grab yopur well deserved badge and be proud of displaying it.
For those who joined in but didn't make it: Never mind. Better luck next year.
For those who said they would join in but never did..... words fail me... or did you just forget???
Start planning for the 2020-21 badge and challenge!
That's great. Tomcat.
Myself, however am having to reluctantly bow out as I have managed to get rather a severe chest infection and am not really up to building anything at the moment as I am just feeling too ill.
I am now on some powerful antibiotics and the docs orders are rest, relax, sleep, hot drinks and no alcohol plus some pain killers to help. It should just take a week or so to fend this off even with a bad heart and although some extra recovery on the far side may be in order I won't have the time to finish the build. The Miniart Treibflugel is quite a simple build and I have got quite a way with it I just don't feel up to it at this moment in time.
Maybe further on when the antibiotics have got a grip and are doing their job and I am feeling much more better than the death warmed up I might join in, or just log this as a quick simple build.
Sorry about this chaps, but you should all steam ahead with the builds and have some fun!
James
I've started mine here...

Great stuff. Start your thread in the appropriate forum and put a link here!
I will be following shortly. Suffering from heavy cold at moment so chewing paracetamil at an alarming rate so I can actually do something!
Off we go chaps. Let the fun commence!
Starting my Christmas Challenge project today, use link below to follow progress:

Ready to go!
That's fine. Thanks very much.
Those doing the challenge can only display this if they finish in 12 days or under!
Maybe we should also have one with FAILED across it for those who don't manage the 12 days.... Hey! It is a bit of fun and should not be taken seriouslyIf you can't laugh at yourself there is something wrong!
Here is my new badge:
Sorry it took so long, I forgot to subscribe and so did not receive any emails.
Only a few days to go before the start.
All you have to do is start building on the 26th. Post a link on this thread to your build and finished pics here!
12 days folks. Have fun!
I have finally decided what to build for the 12 day challenge. This has been sitting in my stash for a few months and is tempting me with a "1947 what if Naval" theme:
https://www.scalemates.com/kits/miniart-40002-focke-wulf-triebfluegel--1217452
There are not many parts and if I use decals then 12 days of concentrated effort should see it done and I could use the period Luftwaffe Maritime scheme of RLM 72/73/65 or a two tone blue splinter scheme.
Nice bit of Crimble fun!
TomcatI'm in. Since I couldn't participate in the week end build (I worked Thanksgiving, Friday and Saturday), I will do this one.
You can still join the weekend build. It's any 48 hour period from Thanksgiving to New Years. Buddy will even adjust that requirement if necessary.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

From my Young model builders stash is the perfect weekend(?)...err...12 days project...
Yes. It is not a group build but a challenge. I would ask that the text is made more visible and GB should be Challenge. It looks great!
Sailing_Dutchman Here is what I came up with for the badge: If you think that I should change anything just say so. I am doing this on a phome so it might not have come out right.

Sergeant I'm in too James with an AFV Club 1/35 M5 3-Inch gun #AF35S64. I will order the kit today from Burbank's House of Hobbies in California. https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/6/1/0/122610-63-instructions.pdf

Looks just right for a 12 day build. not over complicated and an easy paint job.
I have these choices:

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/afv-club-af35s24-lefh18m-105cm-howitzer--141778

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/amusing-hobby-35b001-rutscher-panzerkleinzerstoerer--1082777
I may go with the AFV arty as I have had them in my stash for some time and the builds are more or less the same. We will see!
Thanks Bob.
It is not a GB as such more a limited time free-for-all challenge.
You post in the normal subject area under the 12 day Christmas challenge title, post a link on this thread along with finished pics here (1 post only).
Once completed within the 12 days then you can copy and display the badge.
Last year it was a lot of fun and for some builders provides a great excuse for getting away from family!
Of course, you need a very understanding SWMBO!
Snapdragon-first, thank you for creating & spearheading this GB-it was fun & productive last year. Second-please sign me up-not sure what I'm going to do but as soon as I do I'll post it.
Bob
Ok. Sailing_Dutchman off you go with a badge. That is very kind of you. Thanks.
If I can build a kit in 48 hours year after year, I certantly can complete one in 12 days. I'll let you know on Christmas, so put me down for maybe and TBD.
I am in and can make the badge, it will take a few days though so if anyone else does it I am fine with that as well.
OK, folks, time for a bump.
who is still in on this and have you decided on a subject.
basically the rules are:
12 days from start to finish. And you start on Boxing Day.
any kit, any scale, any add-ons.
volunteer needed for a badge design

Excellent. Welcome to the gang. Closer to the time I will make a list of who is in the gang and what they are intending To build.
Any scale, any kit, any AM stuff, just 12 days to do it in starting Boxing Day (26 December). Tarted up to the eyeballs or just out of the box, it doesn't matter, it is a nice bit of Christmas fun.
Please also remember it is family time too which means it is a good time to use to escape or a break from glue, plastic and paint!
Participants may not cite me or the forum in divorce proceedings. You had better enter negotiations with SWMBO now! LOL
The more the merrier and the more fun around the various sections with the posts during this time.
Last year's build was both fun and challenging-I've got it on the calendar and looking forward to it.
