Just a heads up that Hobby Lobby has 40% of model kits going on right now. You can get multiples and dont need to make multiple trips with the coupon.
On Ed's bench, ???
My local HL carries quite a few Hasagawa and Atlantis kits. I have bought several kits there. They even have a few of the cheaper Tamiya kits.

Oo, I'll check them out. Must be their yearly clean out

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Here's a link to the flyer, too: https://www.hobbylobby.com/find-savings/weekly-ad
40% off all hobby kits. Also 40% off craft supplies and art supplies, among other things. That might make it worth it to stop in to your nearest HL.
The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.

Well, I'm done buying kits now. I just used the HL 40% off on all kits to order 12 kits to add to my stash. No more room to store anymore. Guess I'll have to keep building.

A lot !! And I mean A LOT!!
2024 Kits on deck / in process / completed

Happened to be across the way from our local HL yesterday, so thought I'd stop in just to see if they had anything interesting not expecting much. Walked out with an Academy B-17 F Memphis Bell and an Airfix American Airfield set all for $30 bucks. The clerk didn't realize they were on sale and started ringing up full price, but the greeter caught her and corrected it.
You never know - if I'd been looking for a B-17 it wouldn't have been there...
I'll be stopping in there on Friday. Gonna have to spend some of my birthday money.

It's not a misprint in the flyer, because I ordered all my kits online and they were all discounted right away. For some reason the stores don't seem to be up on the current sale.
68GTYeah, I had to tell the cashier the same thing. don't know why its not in their system unless its a misprint on the flyer. Think they usually do 20% off kits in December. My HL had nothing new but the same Revell/Monogram kits, Some Academy, Airfix and Tamiya stuff. Same stuff they have been carrying the last few years. I did walk away with 2 Academy A-10s and a Revell Corsair for $35.
Despite getting 4 kits as gifts 3 days ago... I ordered 4 from HL. Including my first toon tank! Great deals

Been away from the forums for a few weeks, but made a pretty good deal today, and though this thread might be a good place to crow about it. LOL There's a discount chain called Ollies.... don't know how far and wide they are, but there are 2 in the Oklahoma City area. In their latest flyer, they have model kits on sale.... it says more selections available in store. A bit of an overstatement, but I did find 2 gems today.... both Revell, both 1/48 scale. One for $7.99, one for 9.99. Pretty hard to beat!
mustang1989 May God be with you on that Corsair build. Man that was a toughy.

Haven't built this kit since the 70s if it's the same old Monogram kit. I did notice they used that softer gray plastic instead of the older hard blue stuff.
68GTIs that Fw190 the old Monogram kit or the Hasegawa rebox?
That one's the Monogram kit. The Hasegawa kit (originally Trimaster?) was the one they issued under the ProModeler label.
The older Monogram FW 190 takes me way back in time to 1966 or so when I first had it. I probably did not paint any thing on it. Well, maybe a grey bottom. It was a fun kit. Of course, I LOVED all of the fun extras in the kit. It probably cost me .75 cents.

RickS,
Thanks for the heads up on Ollie's! I just returned from our local one and picked up the Delta Dagger kit (they didn't have the FW). I don't have many jets in my stash so this is a nice addition.
Gary
PS> I still have an original Monogram FW-190 I hope to "restore" one day. How do I know it's original? It's been traveling around with me for about 50 years.
Then too, some people are just born lucky! A local club member found this at an Ollie's in Birmingham, Alabama. $59.99!
I was a very bad boy, ordered more kits I don't need and likely will never get to. But I couldn't pass on the rare combo of 40% off AND free shipping.
In my defense, 2 kits will for friends I am trying to lure into the hobby....

If you manage to hook your friends into the hobby, then it's money well spent!
It's back.....just saw that boxed model kits are 40% off again in their weekly ad. No coupon needed.
One wonders if they are trying to purge to make way for newer kits.
