I was Remembering a funny incident;
Posted by Tanker-Builder on Friday, April 2, 2021 2:59 PM

Well it wasn't funny to me then, but it is now.

             I actually had an R.C. model attacked with Birdshot! I heard a report and my R.C. Chris-Craft Connie reeled sickenly. She stayed afloat but was definitely taking on water!  I had forgotten Duck Season had started! A hunter bursts from the reeds," I know I got it around here somewhere" . He asks me If I saw a shot floating duck. I then proceeded to tell him he damaged a Motoryacht!

            By then The Game warden appeared and I thought Uh-Oh! Our Game Warden was a stickler about NOT facing Marinas when taking a shot anywhere! When He saw the model he instantly knew what happened. He asked if I was okay. I told him I was about forty foot from the model when It got shot.

 Turns out he was building one for his Nephew. He turned around and told the hunter," You owe this man a couple of hundred for his model and you are going to support Fish and Game to the tune of a citation for firing in the direction of a marina, Well, two in fact!"

      The Judge took his hunting privledges for 24 months and made him pay a $500.00 fine for violating the dwelling Spacing laws( We had a lot of Live-Aboards around there)

 He told the warden he was right demanding payment on the spot for my Connie, and Besides he could've shot me instead. And I was wearing Reflective green and Yellow that day. Always did. My skiff only sat fourteen inches out of the water. I wanted to be seen by other bigger Power Boats!
