More ad space
Posted by missileman2000 on Saturday, October 7, 2023 10:02 AM

I am bothered by the incrrease in ad space.  Now there is ad on right side of messages as well as bottom.  Messages are now in smaller font- harder to read.

I got rid of all the ads except the one on the right with adblocker. I've decreased the size of the one on the right by increasing the size of the page with ctrl +. Haven't found a way to get rid of that one all together yet but I keep trying. There is a spot on their site with an X to remove it. I've hit it and they send a "WHY". I tell them and I guess they don't like my answers. If I keep sending the same answer they may get the message, and maybe not.

Stay safe.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.

I have been using free AdBlock for years. Essentially, I never see an ad on any site that I might visit.

I just wanted to add to the info already mention. In addition to the obvious ads , there are numerous trackers here at this site, basically back door intrusions. I have the free software Securty Badger on this computer and presently at this very moment it's blocking 32 of them. That's a lot, many sites I use average 2- maybe 15 or so.

I also have Ad Blocker and see no ads, haven't basically since I joined here. But I also have PC Cleaner, a software that cleans out your computer of gobs of old files, old backdoor stuff you may have had on the computer for years, broken registry files and start up files. Included with that is also an Ad Blocker, so which one is blocking ads right now I'm not sure. But I do know that this old Windows 7 machine hasn't run so smoothly or fast in years. PC Cleaner is something you pay for though. And it's separate from my antivirus program. When I first scanned this computer it took out 4.8 gigs of crap slowing the thing down. We put it on my wifes machine too ( you can do 5 computers) and it took 2.5 gigs off hers.

The only ads I see now are from Adblocker wanting me to get AB+
