I deleted that one for you.

Those are some nice pics, thanks for uploading them.

My father owned a Cessna 337 [O-2] when I was a kid. I just bought the Testors model, he wants me to do it in the camo pattern he had his painted in.

Ron

Thanks for providing the Image Gallery.

Just uploaded a few pics O-2, B-47, F-4, F-14, XB-70, and an OV-10. I need one of the OV-10s deleted. I also loaded different views of a hummer. Hopefully, I have successfully posted a image

You aren't an idiot Gus, you just didn't know.

I started it because when I came to the site the forums were littered with "how do I post a pic" and "where can I host?" .. as well as the broken image links because yahoo pictures or wherever would give them a download limit ... which is one of the easiest things to fix. Its a very visual hobby and I enjoy seeing other people's work.

Gus,

1. That is exactly what the gallery does. You upload it from your hard drive.. it gives you an Internet Address... and you can insert it into your post.... see mine below. Its free hosting.

2. You cannot post directly to the forum. The forum pulls the image from the URL you put into the img tags. There is nothing to figure out.. it doesnt exist.

3. This is the most common way of posting images on any forum.

this is another way of posting images on this site DIRECTLY on the forums. i havent figured it out yet though. the image inserting is odd. anyway you can go to www.speedis.org and upload an image from your hard drive. it will give that image an internet address and u can post it.

My latest offerings may be of interest to petrolheads - a couple of beauty shots of some classic cars, and a Ferrari Track Day at Donington Park, which I stumbled across by chance when I visited the excellent Formula 1 museum there in May.

Excellent! I love the new phot server. Thanks RonUSMC for offering this service! Now, can anyone explain exactly what needs to be done for me to post those photos I uploaded into one of these FSM forum posts?

It's already becoming a good resource and showcase of models. Well done Ron, very generous of you to host this kind of thing.

Out of gratitude I have duly added a couple of reference shots of a T-34/85 I saw at a car museum. I hope they are of use (especially as a study in rust! Big Smile [:D])

I'm sure I can find some more pics to add in the future.

when my wife comes home, I'll put that suit on, it's rather hot in that thing so I won't put on the rest of my battle rattle gear?
I also figured out how to use my digital camera a lil' better on my most recent jaunt to the box.
well take care, I'll have that stuff out later this evening.

As for the MOPP suits. Sure!!

Make a new gallery under uniforms... rename it to MOPP Suits.. then do the internal renaming to moppref, and upload those pics!

I just uploaded some pics of firgures that I'm doing. They are a 1/35th Tamiya German Machine Gun Troop. I'm not done with them yet. All I need to do is some touch up painting.

Well anyways here they are. I hope everybody likes them.

(chemical suit , protective mask, rubber boots and rubber gloves)?
need to know before I turn some of that stuff in.

Hey Everyone!

I went to Disney world this weekend and met a very cool girl and had a great weekend, so I wasn't around at all! Please forgive me, :)

I just looked at the gallery and was in total awe. You guys and gals are doing an incredible job. It is growing just like I thought it would. The lack of unneeded ads, clicks, extra graphics, menus.. etc make it a very easy and straight forward gallery that is catching on like wild fire.

The new galleries that were uploaded were ... well... simply put... incredible. I really enjoy the thought everyone is putting into it and making it a substantial resource for us all to use. I am finding myself leaving the page open to the reference section a bit more while I build so I can instantly click over to what I need and see the shots!

Also remember... to rename the album, not only INSIDE the album.. the Album Title.. but also the internal name.. .when you go up a level and see the album as a thumbnail, click the pulldown and rename it from "album01" etc. It makes it easier to navigate and easier to manage your links for your personal use. As an example...

I just changed album04 to c130ref... to give you an idea.

Honestly.. if you do NOT know how to do that, do NOT let that keep you from creating an album and uploading. I check it every few days and rename any albums that need that. So dont stress out or worry about it, I will do it if you dont. No need to apologize or not upload if you cant... its not a big deal. I can do it very fast without a problem.

The thing to remember though.... if your link has a "album06" or whatever number behind an "album" word... I WILL rename it.. so your links will go dead and when you click them just take you to the main album and you will have to click down to the proper album.

As for cross posting... no, it can't be done in the way you are saying. The album will only display images that it "houses".. that are resident on the server. This ensures stability and content. As for uploading... remember you can do up to 10 images at a time and you can minimize it... you dont have to pay attention to it. After it is done uploading, the small window that is used for uploading disappears.

Great work everyone.. this gallery is really taking off.

Is there a way to "cross-post" pics (you know, like you do to post them here at FSM?)

I've got mine uploaded on wepspace provided by my ISP. Since I'm back in the dark ages with dial-up, I'm hoping to avoid having to RE-upload :)

George,

The new shots of the Bf109 are great. I've got a copy of that one shot of the camo patterend bird flying over the desert at sunset on the wall of my office. A classic of why camo works.
My wife has been getting on me to build and paint that bird and rig up a display stand with using the desert floor spotted with vegetation as a base. I fear that if I don't do it soon she will do it herself. (should I be afraid?)

Ron, again....this is too kind. As George said, it has become a point of reference for many and a source of info that is becomming more than what I think you intended it to become.

Heres to Ron! and his enthusiasm and generosity.

Oooh Rah!

Hi again, Ron,

I've just added some new reference photos in the F-16 (HAF) section and I also created a new nested subdirectory in the Bf-109 section containing some original WWII color shots of the bird.

Come to think of it, the way this whole idea is going, we all might as well end up with a new web reference standard in our hands... Ebay and CDDB have been initiated this way, you know...

Take care...

Hey, Ron:

Thanks for giving us all a place to put our photos!

I was trying to put a couple of extra C-130 photos into the album I created the other day in the reference photo section, and ended up with them outside the album. I got them into the album, but my first attempts are still outside of it. They're two jpegs that go by the names "Hercnose" and "USMC Herc". Thought I'd let you know so you could delete the ones outside the album. No need for clutter.

I added a bunch of photos to the reference section today, some of them are not crystal clear, but I blame the prevailing weather conditions, my camera and scanner limitations for any lacking clarity.

If anyone can make use of, or just enjoy any one of the photos I've posted, it will have been worth the effort putting them up :-)

Thanks again Ron!

How do you manage your pictures page when someone uploads their images or you put new ones on yourself.

I am constructing my website for my pictures and right now I have to do the layout manually and it is time consuming as hell! Eventually I would like to be able to have people upload pic's and download ones they like as well.

Hey Ron,
Well I did it. As computer stupid as I am I was able to figure it out. I uploaded some of the pics of the fm-2 I shot. Hope someone can use them. I want to cut down the size of the T6 pics as they're in high res.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Ron,
I've just uploaded a photo of an RAF Desert Storm Chinook to your gallery. I intended to put it in the reference section for a chap on this board (In the Helicopters section) who was after an image. Unfortunately I was unable to put it into the reference section for some reason. I expect you know how to use the gallery better than I do, so please could you put it in the right place!

Sorry for unintentionally messing up your layout,

Rob M.
